Our family had a very comfortable stay at Sofitel Sanya Leeman. The rooms are spacious, clean, and perfect for families. A special mention goes to Nikki, the butler / service manager, who was consistently attentive throughout our stay. She made sure our rooms were cleaned and tidied every day, and her warm service really stood out. The resort facilities are excellent, and the kids’ club kept my daughter engaged throughout the trip. However, there was one hiccup: I booked a one‑day camp for my daughter that included a helicopter ride. The day before the camp, I checked with the reception and was told that the camp was cancelled due to no other participants, and the helicopter ride was off because of government air control. None of this was communicated to me beforehand — I only found out because I asked. That said, the staff did their best to make up for it. They arranged the camp for my daughter alone, even without other participants, and although the helicopter ride still couldn’t proceed due to government restrictions, they offered other tokens and gestures to compensate for the miscommunication. Overall, despite the kids’ club communication issue, the hotel team handled the situation well, and we still had a very enjoyable stay. We appreciate the effort and hospitality shown by everyone at Sofitel.

We were unbelievably spoiled and exceptionally well cared for during our third stay here. Sofitel Sanya has officially become our home away from home in Sanya! Reservation Our wonderful experience started even before arrival. Traveling as two families with four adults and five children (ages 7–16), we received excellent advice from Room Manager Roy, who quickly understood our needs and recommended the best room options with great value. His communication was always professional, informative, and friendly. The moment we entered our spacious family suites with breathtaking sea views, we knew another unforgettable vacation had begun. Butler Service Roy connected us with our amazing butler, Nikki, who looked after every detail throughout our stay. Whether it was restaurant and spa reservations, family activities, late check-out, or special requests, nothing was ever too much trouble. When our friends were told they couldn’t purchase the hotel’s bathrobes, one message to Nikki was all it took. Two brand-new bathrobes were packed and delivered to their room. Food and beverage Breakfast at Restaurant Cuisine continues to impress with its wide selection, and we especially enjoyed the new additions, including homemade granola and freshly made wontons. The BBQ dinner buffet now offers even better value while maintaining its excellent quality The staff made every meal even more memorable. Ruby arranged my son’s favorite baked potato with cheese from our previous visit, while Chef Carl personally served it during the BBQ dinner, bringing back wonderful family memories. Mike thoughtfully arranged coffee and drinks for us before 7 a.m. without us asking, so we could watch an early football match before the lobby bar opened. Erica greeted us every morning with a smile, remembered our coffee preferences, and always kept our table spotless. Seeing her each morning became one of the highlights of breakfast! The Thai restaurant is outstanding and I could eat here everyday! We enjoyed the interactive demonstration by the chef and thoughtful details such as a handwritten welcome in Thai on a leaf, which I kept as a bookmark. For quick meals, the Noodle House was perfect. Chef Tom, Tony, and Carol were incredibly welcoming, and our children especially adored Chef Tom, who cheered them on during their pickleball games. Recreation The recreation facilities are outstanding and kept our children entertained throughout our stay. We enjoyed go-karts, VR games, billiards, pickleball, kayaking, KTV, table tennis, arts and crafts, baking classes. There is a weekly schedule with many complimentary daily activities as well. We never needed to leave the resort, which also gave us parents time to unwind at the spa. The pools are equally impressive. The main pool, surrounded by lush tropical gardens, never felt crowded and offered plenty of shade, while the infinity pool was another family favorite. The kids especially loved the afternoon flying carpet activity. What truly sets Sofitel apart is its recreation team. Danny surprised us with a handwritten welcome card and framed photos of our children from our previous visit—a gesture that truly touched us. It was wonderful seeing familiar faces like Sara and Flora again, who welcomed our children like old friends. Sara even looked after our youngest during the evening show so we could enjoy dinner. Her genuine care and warmth is simply exceptional. Last but not the least, we would like to extend our thanks to Aifen and Jacky. Just when we thought we might be disappointed after two earlier unbeatable stays at Sofitel Sanya, Sofitel team has ONCE AGAIN delivered top notch service with countless thoughtful personal touches and surprises! Keep up the fantastic work and your amazing team whom we already look forward to seeing again soon!

We had a pleasant stay at Sofitel Sanya. The pool is huge and impressive, but in June the water was very warm as it does not seem to be cooled. The pool could also be a bit cleaner.The breakfast was excellent, with a very large selection of both Asian and European dishes. You can clearly notice the French influence of the hotel, especially in the outstanding variety of bread, pastries, and cheeses.The property is starting to show its age in some areas, but it is still very well maintained and offers a very good overall experience. We would gladly stay here again.

The hotel resort is surprisingly good and out of our expectation! It’s very kids friendly with quite a lot of facilities (e.g. playhouse, kids swimming pool, mini soccer pitch) and kids activities (e.g. art workshop, cooking class, dance performance). We had great fun and enjoyed the stay with our 2 year old daughter! Staff were nice and helpful. We will definitely come again!

I must say, the check-in arrangements at the Sanya Sofitel were rather exasperating. I arrived at 16:30 , having booked the finest and most expensive room among the single-room categories (that is, non-suite), with the sole request not to be placed in a remote room, as distant rooms are inconveniently far from the restaurant and lobby lounge. The front desk assured me it would take merely 30 min to arrange — yet they delayed for a full hour and a half, and I was only able to check in around 18:00 o'clock. On other fronts, the room facilities were quite satisfactory, the sea-view room offered a pleasant vista, and the hotel's overall amenities were well-appointed — expansive lawns, a variety of swimming pools to suit my leisure pursuits, and the evening entertainment show proved rather agreeable as well.

Our experience was highly disappointing due to both unprofessional service and outdated room conditions. Upon arrival, our room was not ready, so we planed to go shopping. The staff allowed us to store our luggage in the VIP lounge and provided a claim tag. However, when we returned, the VIP lounge door was wide open with no staff present, and our luggage was left unattended near the entrance. When we questioned the front desk while collecting our room key, a female staff member dismissively claimed it was 'fine because there are security cameras.' This response felt incredibly unprofessional and showed a lack of regard for guest security. Furthermore, the room itself is severely outdated. The bed was extremely old and uncomfortable, resulting in a nearly sleepless night. We strongly recommend upgrading the mattresses and improving staff training regarding guest property security.

Staff friendly however make sure if you only speak English you have a good translater app to communicate. The swim up bar not operational which was a shame. The gym was great good cardio equipment , weights etc. The food was delicious and a good price. Highly recommend the Club rooms through Trip.com as you get lots of inclusions like a great breakfast including Western food. Afternoon tea, happy hour drinks and food fantastic. Transport from the airport is 45 minutes and the Alipay app has Didi in for taxis which were a good price. Vpn essential and Wechat pay and communication

Very pleasant stay at Sofitel Sanya Leeman Resort. The property is luxurious and the breakfast plentiful and varied. The hotel is very kid-friendly with a kids club, activities, slides and a children’s pool. I thank our assistant Nikki for her help and thoughtful touches: early check-in, a complimentary upgrade to a higher-floor room, a fruit platter, etc.
