Google· 2 months agoWe had a great stay at the ANA Crowne Plaza Sapporo. My IHG Diamond status was recognized extremely well, and the service throughout our stay was excellent. Breakfast was a particular highlight, with an amazing selection of both Japanese and Western options. The Japanese curry, sushi specialties and freshly prepared omelets were especially good. There was enough variety to make breakfast feel genuinely special. Our room had been recently renovated and was smartly and thoughtfully finished. Although the reception area felt slightly dated, nothing about the hotel seemed run-down; everything was clean, well maintained and kept to a high standard. We were travelling with a campervan, and the reception team went above and beyond to accommodate us. They found a special place for it on the hotel property and located a staff member who spoke excellent English to help us maneuver the vehicle safely into the space. That level of assistance was greatly appreciated. Overall, this was a wonderful stay—and even more impressive considering the very reasonable price we paid. Excellent service, a superb breakfast and outstanding value. We would happily stay again.

IHG· 3 months agoI recently stayed at ANA Crowne Plaza Sapporo and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the location is very convenient and an easy 7-minute walk from Sapporo Station, making it a great base for exploring the city. The room quality is standard for what you would typically expect in Japan—compact but functional—and the provided amenities were of good quality. The absolute highlight of my stay was the breakfast. They offer an excellent selection, and I highly recommend trying the traditional Japanese-style breakfast set at Unkai, located in the first basement level (B1). It was an exceptional and authentic dining experience. However, the front desk service fell short. The English proficiency of the reception staff was quite poor. The girl who handled my check-in struggled significantly with communication and lacked basic hospitality skills. Furthermore, I explicitly requested her to link my IHG member number to my reservation during check-in. This was completely omitted, and my stay was not recorded properly. I ultimately had to contact the help desk of IHG later to manually reclaim my missing loyalty points. While the amenities and food are excellent, the front desk training definitely needs improvement.

Trip.com· 4 months agoI had a very pleasant stay at ANA Crowne Plaza Sapporo and would happily stay here again.As expected from an IHG property, the overall experience was reliable and professional. The hotel is not brand new, and you can see that the building has some age, but it is exceptionally well maintained. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom and shower area were clean and well designed.What impressed me most was the professionalism of the staff. Every interaction was efficient, friendly, and helpful. Housekeeping also did an excellent job, and the cleanliness throughout the property was outstanding.The location is convenient for exploring Sapporo and accessing transportation, making it a great base for travelers.I would also like to highlight the café on the first floor. Hotel guests receive a 10% discount, and both the food and drinks were excellent. The quality exceeded my expectations, and the value for money was surprisingly good compared to many hotel cafés. It became one of my favorite spots during my stay.One useful tip for travelers: if you are driving, overnight parking is available for ¥2,000 per night. However, if you return your rental car on the same day and do not keep it overnight, there is no parking charge. I found this policy quite reasonable and worth noting for those planning a self-drive trip around Hokkaido.Overall, while the hotel may not be the newest property in Sapporo, its excellent maintenance, comfortable rooms, professional service, and great dining options make it a strong choice. If the price is reasonable, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Google· 3 months agoThis hotel is less than 10 mins walk from Sapporo JR Station North entrance and is close to many facilities such as convenient stores, department stores and restaurants. The hotel is very comfortable despite it is showing its age. It has a car park in the basement but do note there is a 1.9M height restriction so if your rental is taller, there is outdoor parking before the hotel on the same block. Breakfast is served from 2 restaurants - one buffet and one Japanese seafood set with seasonal offerings. Although the buffet is the same every day, the sausages, bacon, scrambled eggs and omelettes are very tasty along with an arsenal of jams and spreads for your toasts. PS. I do recommend that you sign up for the IHG membership beforehand because they have an express check-in line at the reception as well as a 1400 check out time (normal time is 1100).

Google· Edited 2 months agoAs a IHG Diamond Ambassador member, I have just completed our first stay in the Crowne Plaza Sapporo. While I was recognised as a Diamond member during check-in, the allocated room upgrade that was provided (as part of my membership level) was prefunctory: A higher floor room with the same size and layout as the room which I have booked, as confirmed with the check-in staff. The room size is extremely small, and with two persons in the same booking, there is simply no space for both luggages to be opened, and we had to take turns moving in the small cabin-like room. Compared to the Crowne Plaza Kushiro where we had arrived from, that hotel may not have the bells and whistles of the Sapporo property, but the Diamond treatment we have received was well above our expectations with a larger room that what was booked originally. In Crowne Plaza Sapporo, receiving an “upgrade” to a higher room floor with the same layout as the one i have booked smells of stinginess of a hotel property. There are good points however: The hardware and service of this hotel is expected from a Crowne Plaza with renovated rooms and decor, and good housekeeping standards. Breakfast, as in Japan generally, is great with good quality and variety. Overall, we ended up being amused with the grandiosely announced Diamond room upgrade of being in a higher floor. Taking into consideration of the high price this Sapporo hotel is charging during our stay, we feel that this stay was not of good value.

Google· 2 months agoOriginally booked 2 nights (31sqm) and booked 1 night additional since I cut a night at Asahikawa. Managed to get a room (20+sqm) beside lift. Location: excellent. It’s beside exit 21 and you can either go underground or cut diagonally to Sapporo Station. Also, it’s on the same belt towards Nijio Market. Convenience Store: Seicomart is attached to the hotel. Parking & charges: excellent for SUV but it’s expensive at 2000yen per day, charged to room. So every exit, bring to reception to exchange. Room#1: I think its 21sqm and it’s stated as beside lift. Pricing is reasonable but odd shape and the lift shaft is beside the bed. Small and at night, you can hear the lift movement. If you are light sleeper, will be an issue. Also, the blackout curtain is bad, lights come in at day break…4+am. Room#2: at 31sqm, it’s good size and the curtains are so much better. Still not 100% and we woke up at 4-5am cause of the strong summer day break. But, it’s a lot better.

The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to both the subway station and nearby department stores, which made getting around Sapporo very easy. What impressed me the most was the thoughtful and attentive service from the front desk team. They were professional, friendly, and made me feel genuinely welcomed throughout my stay. One detail that stood out was the hotel’s thoughtful preparation of towels at the entrance on a rainy day, allowing guests to dry themselves upon arrival. It may seem like a small gesture, but it showed a high level of care and hospitality. Although I did not note any specific staff member’s name, I would like to recognize the entire front desk team for their excellent service. Overall, everything was very good, and I hope the hotel continues to maintain this wonderful standard.

Google· 4 months agoGreat location- near Sapporo station and close to malls. Very courteous and helpful staff, with special mention to Mr Kang and his other colleague (i forget the name, sorry!) for assisting me when I had problems with my luggage. The room was a bit small and can be quite warm. Might have problems when it comes to opening luggages. No issue if this is something you expect. Shower pressure was exceptional. The room was also cleaned everyday☺️ Breakfast selection on both restaurants were good too🥰 Will definitely stay agan.
