I do not recommend this hotel to visitors to the glorious city of Lisbon and its suburbs. Look for other hotels and apartments; there are plenty. I booked a room at Casalinho da Azenha - Charm House for 4 nights and was informed of my arrival time in the city and at this hotel. I received confirmation from the owners and managers that the reservation had been successful and that they were awaiting my arrival, and that they were happy to accommodate me—it's funny now. I was sent a message with directions to my room and that an envelope with my room key would be waiting for me in the safe upon my arrival that evening. When I arrived at the hotel at the agreed-upon time, after 9:00 PM, I couldn't find the envelope or key in the safe. There was no one at reception, the managers were absent, and they were unavailable by phone or through the booking.com messenger. I can't get into my room after 1,000 kilometers. I really want to shower, relax, and prepare for the conference, which is very important to me and my company. I arrived at a conference and couldn't check into the room I'd booked. Honestly, my colleague and I were furious. Since the conference was large, it was impossible to book a room at another hotel; all the hotels were full. It was impossible to eat or drink coffee at this hotel, as nothing was working. I contacted booking.com support that night, and after several hours of correspondence, they told me they'd contacted the manager of Casalinho da Azenha - Charm House, who explained that my room had been given to other guests, but there were available rooms at the hotel!!! Why couldn't they just give me a room and bring me a key? No one from Casalinho da Azenha - Charm House contacted me to help resolve the issue or even explain the situation, or that I should leave. Sorry for the silence and lack of information. So, at 3 a.m., after a long search for room, apartment, and hosting options, I booked a very expensive hotel room on my own, the budget of which exceeded the cost of my and my colleague's entire conference trip, and left Casalinho da Azenha - Charm House. After analyzing the situation, I found a similar review stating that the other guests had also been unable to check into the hotel. Dear tourists, citizens of the wonderful city of Lisbon, who are looking for a getaway outside the city, please consider all the potential risks of booking a room at Casalinho da Azenha - Charm House. My breakfast was eaten by managers and other guests. Guests who didn't pay for my room slept in my room.

In the photo everything looks beautiful, but in reality the rooms are damp and there is mold.

The room where we were staying was #5, extremely dirty with mold smell and humid, linen were dirty and pillows had stains. There was no hot water in the shower too. Breakfast was very limited, basically nothing to eat, after 3PM there is nobody from staff, so even if you need something urgently nobody is there to assist or answer the phone. We texted and called the phone number on booking and yet after almost one full day nobody answered. For the price it's not worth at all, it's far beyond from 4 stars. And it is not a hotel as they claim, it is only rooms with no reception after 15:00.

I hate writing negative reviews, but this was a an awful experience. Paid in full at time of booking via Expedia (close to $192 USD). 3 weeks later received a message from property manager that Expedia didn't have the correct price and I owed 150 euros more upon checkout if we wanted to keep reservation. I asked for them to honor price, but they refused since they said Expedia made a mistake. I called Expedia and they said the mistake was not on their end, but the BnBs. We kept the reservation because all other properties nearby were booked by this time. For $350 I had very high expectations... We never received check-in instructions (they blamed Expedia again). We found a grounds worker who helped us get into our room because there was no one else working at the property. The air conditioning in the master was malfunctioning. The groundskeeper called management who said they could look at it the next day, which didn't help since we were checking out in the morning. The shower took 15-20 minutes to drain for the next person to use it. At the breakfast the coffee machine needed to be descaled so the one (and only) woman who worked at the property put out a thermos of coffee that was cold by the time we got to breakfast at 8am. She was not pleasant. At checkout she said we needed to not just pay the 150 euros, but rather the entire total again and that Expedia would refund me our original $192. She had our IDs throughout conversation. She called the manager who had initially emailed me about owing 150 euros and she confirmed that we did in fact owe the entire amount and that Expedia would refund me, which sounded strange.... but we paid another $370.67 USD on top of the $192 already paid. Insane. Long story short, Expedia did not refund us because no one at the property answered their calls to confirm payment at checkout. We had to dispute the charge with our credit card. Nightmare for one night. Until they get their act together, don't stay here.

Everything is great, the place, the hosts, the rooms, the breakfast. It's better to travel by car otherwise Uber is quite cheap & available. Only issue is a bit weak wifi. But if you are planning for holiday & not working, perfect place.

Visited in August 2024 We stayed here a couple nights because it was close to the sites at Sintra. WOW WOW WOW!!! It was so much more that we were expecting! This is a uniquely beautiful villa! It is impeccably kept up by very welcoming and friendly hosts. The place is clean, wifi is fast, bed is comfortable, tv nice size, bathroom / shower is sized right, kitchen and breakfast area was great! Whatever the area...this groups is doing it right! If you are in the area do not miss this place to stay! Thank you for a wonderful stay!!!

Worst experience in my life! We booked by Air BnB, the host didn’t welcome us properly (we waited more than 1 hour in the parking). We asked for the room during check-in (his computer was switch off) and we asked to use the room in the meantime (for the bathroom). Even we had already paid for the room, he told that we weren’t customer yet. He opened the shared bathroom in the patio and delete our reservation. He lived us with no room for the night at 8pm. Worst experience ever!

Kind staff and the property is very peaceful and beautiful. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Loved the bedroom, the bed was very comfortable.
