Lovely stay in this hostel! They have a kitchen! And the location is strategic from the train station and to the nearer points of attractions! To future occupants, do note that the toilet (to shower) is on the ground floor and you will need to walk down or take the elevator.

Response from the property

Thank you very much for sharing your kind review and helpful comments about your stay with us. We are delighted to hear that you had a lovely stay and enjoyed having access to the kitchen. Many guests appreciate being able to prepare simple meals or snacks, and we are glad it added to your comfort. We are also happy that you found our location convenient. Being close to the train station and within easy walking distance of nearby attractions is something we take pride in, as it helps guests make the most of their time in Takayama. Thank you as well for kindly mentioning the location of the shower facilities for future guests. As you noted, the shower rooms are located on the ground floor and can be accessed either by stairs or by elevator. We appreciate you sharing this practical information, as it can be useful for other travelers when planning their stay. Your thoughtful feedback means a great deal to us. We are grateful that you chose our hostel and took the time to write about your experience. We hope your time in Takayama was memorable and comfortable.

Not a positive experience, don't recommend unless it's the last option. the only perk is a good location and showers. On the other hand: - smelly rooms with poor ventilation - in our room, AC was held in place by tape - no laundry room in the building - no shoe policy but slippers are not enough for all guests - no on site reception - high cost (relatively to other places)

First of all, check-in to be done from a different location. Unfortunate I did not notice the mail regarding instruction and I to walk back. he Rooms are comfy, Clean and quite . Toilet and bathrooms are also clean. Kitchen has all utilities, basic oil, salt. Pepper etc.

Good value hostel in the centre of Takayama, only 5 minutes walking from the train station and Nohi bus stop. Even though there is no staff at the hostel, we met them at the reception at the main hotel nearby and we were explained everything in detail. The hostel is spotless and has all spaces well organized. The showers at the first floor are completely new and are well equipped with so many toiletries available, even safety boxes and skin creams! The kitchen is well equipped too even though we only used the microwave. Our twin room was comfortable, we had clean sheets and towels, heating and hangers. The only downside I can think of are the thin walls, you can hear other guests downstairs too.

This hostel does not deserve such a low note. I've been traveling for 2 years and it's one of the best hostels I've stayed at. The current rating is not deserved. They let me check-in earlier when I just wanted to ask to drop my bag. A shower after 4 days of trekking in the mountains, I'm not saying no. The spacious, well-lit, comfortable room with privacy and very clean. There is even a private bathroom with a bathtub.. kitchen, lobby and nice living room. well secured. A full note.

The check-in process was inconvenient. We had to go to a different location to complete the check-in, so one person had to stay with the luggage while the other went to handle it. It was not very convenient and could be better organized.

It is a good stay, we were there two nights. In the double room and in the dorm. Both were comfortable. Having an elevator is helpful as you have to go to ground floor for bathroom. There is one big bath, with a bathtub while several small shower cubicles. It’s quite clean as it is new, location is the most perfect thing. The only negative is that their reception is at another hotel, so we had to walk there to check-in. But I believe it is temporary since they’re very new. I would recommend staying here!

Good location but that’s about it. The WiFi works 5% of the time and there is never toilet roll in the bathrooms. They do give you towels for free which is good if you are going to an onsen and the rooms are good size but it fails on the basics. The hostel is also unstaffed because you check in at the hotel around the corner

Response from the property

Dear Leoqal Leoqal, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad to hear that you appreciated the location and the free towels! We sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced with the WiFi and the lack of toilet roll in the bathrooms. These are definitely things we will address with our team to improve for future guests. We also understand that the check-in process at the nearby hotel can be inconvenient, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We're always working to improve, and your feedback is valuable in helping us make necessary changes. We hope you'll consider staying with us again in the future. Thank you for your input!
