Beautiful haven close to the beach at the bottom of the hill to Taormina. Easy check in , room was spotless and stunning views from the terrace. Aircon worked really well. You can get snacks and drinks at the pool bar. Look the steps are a chore but worth it for the views, it was easier to walk down to the beach and back (there’s also a cable car) than it was to walk up to Taormina but we did it each day and it was fine. Only suggestion would be more umbrellas by the pool, lots of chairs available but struggled to get shade a few days.

Good location and well priced and well equipped, you will always need to walk down to get to the cable car. Breakfast to a good standard. (Could probably do with some mortadella) Staff friendly and helpful. Mattresses on single and sofa beds need replacing as not comfortable and lumpy. Slight maintenance issues such as shower heads need replacing etc. Rooms could be cleaned better.

Lovely rooms with Aircon and Heating. Beautiful views of Isola Bela and beach. Conveniently located half way between the beach and town, but be aware this does mean a fair few stairs to get to either. Not a problem if you're fit and healthy. There was also a really nice pool, although we didn't use it as we came very early in the season. Hot water tank is relatively small, so you can't take long hot showers, but that's not a problem if the weather is hot.

Absolutely fabulous villas in ideal location halfway between beach and hilltop town. Tip: there are a lot of steps to beach or town (hundreds) so the best advice to make it easy on the knees is to always take the furnicular up, and stairs down.

Response from the property

(Translated by Google) Dear Tim, Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We're delighted you enjoyed our villas and the location of Residence Terra Rossa, nestled between the sea and the charm of Taormina's historic center. Your advice about the funicular is truly invaluable and will certainly be useful to future guests: it's a great way to fully enjoy the area without overexerting yourself, especially after a day at the beach or walking. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you back very soon for another relaxing stay in Taormina.

Nice place with a great view, but not worth the price. Our apartment looked good in photos, but in reality it was dated and had a strong humidity/mold smell in the bathroom, forcing us to keep the window open even in November. The worst part, though, was the customer service. It felt like they were fed up with tourists and just didn’t care. When we questioned why our Booking.com rate was nearly 80% higher than the price on their own website — after they told us booking through the platform was fine - the owner’s daughter brushed us off with a cold “That’s not my problem, call Booking.” Her attitude made us feel not just ignored, but openly disrespected. No attempt to understand, no apology, no gesture of goodwill, nothing. Overall: you pay for the view, and that’s where the value ends. Definitely not worth it unless you snag a last-minute discount. Would not recommend.
