Tripadvisor· a month agoWe had a lovely holiday overall and would definitely return.|A very special mention to Vini from the entertainment team, who was absolutely incredible and genuinely made our children’s holiday so memorable. He went above and beyond to make the kids smile, get involved and have fun, and you could really see how much they adored him. Every time they saw Vini, their faces lit up — he brought so much energy, kindness and happiness to their holiday.|Vini was honestly the highlight of our stay for our children. They absolutely loved him and are still talking about him now! It’s not often you come across someone who makes such a big impression on kids, but Vini really did. He created some of their favourite memories from the holiday, and for that we are incredibly grateful. He is a real credit to the hotel and deserves a huge amount of recognition for the effort and enthusiasm he puts into entertaining the children. ❤️|Restaurant Ria was lovely, with very friendly and welcoming staff who made us feel comfortable and well looked after.|A big thank you also to Richard on reception, who was very friendly and helpful during our stay.|We did have an issue with our original apartment when we first arrived. It wasn't like the pictures shown on the website and was quite tired-looking, which was disappointing. However, John listened to our concerns and sorted the issue by moving us to a much nicer apartment, which we really appreciated.|Despite the initial room issue, we had a fantastic family holiday. The kids had an absolutely brilliant time, and Vini was without a doubt the highlight for them. He made their holiday extra special and gave them memories they will remember for a long time.|Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable — and especially Vini. We will definitely return! ❤️

Google· 3 months agoLoved this hotel excellent food and rooms, the pool is amazing and the entertainment is wonderful. The beach is beautiful. I go there every two years. Would super recommend.

Google· 6 months agoGreat cost quality, boat trip to the beach is amazing. My kids love this place. We like location, rivers and ocean. Walking is also great. Rooms are clean, however not renovated. But, for the vacation it does not really matter. Cost is great.

Tripadvisor· 4 months agoGolden Club Cabanas Review We stayed at the Golden Club Cabanas for a week in May through RCI. The setting is absolutely wonderful, right in the heart of the Ria Formosa Natural Park. The beach can only be reached by boat, with a regular shuttle running throughout the day, which adds to the experience. Guests do have to wear a wristband all week to show the boat captain, which we personally found a little cumbersome and irritating. Cabanas itself is lovely and makes a great base for exploring Faro, Tavira and the beautiful wetlands of the Reserva Natural do Sapal de Castro Marim e Vila Real de Santo António. Sadly, the Golden Club resort itself feels very tired and in real need of refurbishment, which is a shame because it has so much potential. Our apartment was spacious but clearly neglected in places. The floor coverings on the landings were particularly dirty and could really do with a deep clean. The evening entertainment was also very loud and continued until around 11pm each night, which may bother lighter sleepers. One thing to be aware of is that there are no duvets on the beds. We were only provided with a sheet and bedspread, and even with the extra blanket from the wardrobe we still felt cold at times. If you use the air conditioning for heating, be warned that electricity is charged separately and quite expensively — we paid over €40 for the week. The apartment was also rather sparsely equipped for self-catering. We were only given very small tumblers and would have appreciated some proper glasses for water, wine or beer. No washing-up liquid or scourer was provided initially, although reception did supply them quickly once we asked. Our dishwasher didn’t work when we arrived, but to be fair it was replaced very promptly after we reported it. However, no dishwasher tablets were provided. Despite all of this, would we return? Honestly, yes — in a flash if we found a cheap flight again. The stay only cost us around 25,000 RCI points, so in many ways you do get what you pay for. The location really is superb and with some investment the resort could be fantastic.

Google· 3 months agoLovely hotel with great amenities. Staff are super helpful and genuine. We initially had an issue with our room being full of mosquitos, presumably due to a window being left open, but once we brought it up at the front desk we were quickly moved to another room. The room was lovely and modern with lots of space and nice big balconies (One for bedroom one for living room). Air conditioning works perfectly and keeps the room super cool, even a little too cold at one point! (Which is not at all a complaint in 34 degree heat) The two pools are lovely and there are always plenty of sun loungers free. There is a larger pool which has lovely views and a smaller one which is right next to the restaurant. The restaurant sells lovely food and is a good spot for lunch if you are only half board. This is a family hotel, so expect kids I will never understand reviews being low for a hotel having kids at them so this of course is no problem. There is also plenty for them to do, pools, basketball, beach ball, kids club and nightly entertainment. As far as a family hotel goes though, this one is surprisingly quiet! At not one point on this trip did I feel like my peace and quiet was being disturbed. The shuttle boat to the beach is fun and only takes around 1 minute to get from either side. The beach is very nice but there is a cost to use the sun loungers there, but that is to be expected. The food at the buffet is very nice but might be a little small for some, but there is a new selection every night so it doesn’t get boring. The menu outside lets you see what is on for the week. The entertainment is fun for sure, not the most exciting of selection but the staff give their all, and it shows! There is plenty to do nearby, the walk into Cabanas is stunning and right on the doorstep, there’s also plenty of restaurants here if you fancy a change. Tavira is only a short journey away also and costs on average €2.50-€3.50 in an Uber or Bolt.

Google· 5 months agoHorrible place I would never stay here again. I'm here now and I have one more night here. If you are single and traveling here, do not stay here. There's too many kids and it's loud with children. At 7am They were doing construction and cleaning out the garbage cans and doing gardening. At 7 AM? Can you wait until the guests get up at least by 9 AM?There's no adult pool. The food here is horrible. The buffet breakfast was a joke. Customer Services experience is disturbing. They argued about my buffet breakfast when I clearly paid it and then I had to show my receipt. They do not have any valet or Bellservice so I had to carry my own bags to my rooms, which was another 15 mins away from the lobby. And it was hot and I was really upset that there was no one to help me with my bags. The beach is beautiful but to get there is another half a mile from the hotel. The pools are OK. The only good thing that I'd liked about this place is the indoor pool but the Staff at the Health Facilities were rude and inconsiderate. I'm only here for one more night and I can't wait to get out of here.

Tripadvisor· 5 months agoI should have done more research into this property. Although it was a huge resort, there were too many kids. The indoor pool was nice. My room was very standard, no frills. Bed was hard as a rock. The room was clean, but no housekeeping services came to clean my room after staying there for 3 days. This is definitely a 2.5 star hotel. Customer was mid, the front desk doesn't help with luggage and you have to carry your own luggage. The hotel is close to restuarants but it is a long walk into town. I don't recommend coming here if you're single.
