I wish I could give this hotel 6 stars! My wife and I got married in Toledo recently and had about 50 family members stay at this hotel + we did one of the wedding events at the hotel. It is incredible!! The location is perfect. Conveniently next to the old town but also just outside the old town where you can park more easily. The hotel itself is beautiful and the new renovated rooms are perfect. Very nice and modern while maintaining the Toledo Charm What really made this a 6 star stay for me was the staff. WOW. Johan, Benjamin, and the rest of the maintenance team were incredibly helpful the entire time. They helped us with lots of luggage, storing some items, and moving boxes around. Never felt any negative energy, always a strong willingness to help. They are awesome. The reception staff was incredibly helpful as well. Angelica and her team were a pleasure to work with leading up to the stay and while we were there. The team that helped set up our post wedding brunch and the waiters were extremely helpful too. I wish I could remember their names. Overall I would recommend this hotel to anyone!

Great location hotel and walking distance to old town. Nice view and enjoyed the stay even though just only one night.

The location is great, we had a pleasant Valentines dinner in the restaurant and the hotel has potential but .... The heating did not work in our room when we arrived, the hot water takes 5 to 6 minutes to arrive. The room has no coffeemaker or kettle. The safe is not connected to anything, so can be stolen on its own. Drinks and food cannot be charged to the room. The breakfast is an amateuristic affair with inexperienced staff and poor service. When a (4 star) hotel asks these prices, it should deliver on comfort and service, and it clearly doesn't. It is the former Residence of the Cardinal, and we know why he left....

I had stayed here before and was coming back as i remembered it fondly however we got put in a new wing and the room had an open bathroom, no door for the toilet and a see through shower. With the front door open you could see someone in the shower or on the toilet from the corridor. Seriously!?The wifi didn’t work at all and the room certainly wasn’t cheap. The grounds and view are lovely but you could just pop in to see them

The property itself is historical and well-situated. The room is missing some items you’d find in any 3-4 start properties. It doesn’t come with electric kettle nor coffee maker. There’s a bathtub in the bedroom (?). No box of tissues. It’d be nice to have at least an electric kettle so I can enjoy some tea in my room whenever I want to. If you lower your expectations, you’ll enjoy this place. It’s too bad as the hotel has potentials, but I wouldn’t recommend to those who are used to 4 start properties.

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Hacienda del Cardenal, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The hotel’s historic charm, stunning architecture, and lush gardens create a peaceful oasis that feels like stepping into another era. Every corner is beautifully maintained, blending old-world elegance with modern comfort. The service was impeccable—staff members were warm, attentive, and always ready to go the extra mile to ensure a perfect stay. Now, let’s talk about the food—simply outstanding! The restaurant offers a fantastic selection of traditional Spanish cuisine with a refined touch. The cochinillo (suckling pig) was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside, and the paella was bursting with authentic flavors. Every dish was beautifully presented and paired wonderfully with a great selection of wines. If you’re looking for a place that delivers both a luxurious stay and an exceptional culinary experience, Hacienda del Cardenal is a must-visit. I can’t wait to return!

Absolutely gorgeous hotel located on the outer wall of Toledo. Our room was huge, really comfortable and warm. The hotel itself is beautiful both inside and the surrounding gardens and patio. Breakfast was sufficient, although the coffee wasn’t great. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was reasonable, we had a great bottle of wine. Great value for money!!
