We stayed at Flor Austral for 4 days and it was great! Our highlights were the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and a perfect breakfast to kickstart our days. The location was close by the main road also. Have nothing but positive things to say. Thanks for having us :) C+C

Wonderful hotel in old style with good location, just down the stairs and you are at the beginning of the Main Street. Staff were very attentive and friendly all the time. Breakfast was quite simple but made a la minute and enough for me.

Nice accommodations for the price. Centrally located. Friendly staff. Not the comfiest beds - squeaky. Beautiful homey views from lounge/dining hall

This property had many pluses and a few minuses. I would happily stay there again, but would address some of the minuses by staying in a different room.|The pluses:|- Decent breakfast cooked to order|- Lovely views from dining/lobby area|- Super nice and helpful staff - spent lots of time giving us great restaurant recommendations, helping my son set up a hiking trip, etc.|- Reasonably priced|- Convenient location - just down a big flight up steps and you're in the middle of town, very nice for walking around and close to restaurants and shopping|The minuses:|- Our particular room (the family room, for four) was two rooms plus bathroom, spacious but tucked under gables with very low ceilings in parts. Charming but watch your head! I would opt for a different room, particularly if you're tall|- Shower was adequate but honestly the smallest I have ever seen|- Bathroom smelled weird...not exactly like sewage, but not pleasant either. We opted to keep the door closed so the odor didn't permeate the sleeping areas|- Family-run hotel = hosting their family get-together on New Year's Eve...too loud for guest comfort. Noise level perfectly fine on all the other nights we were there

This is one of my favorite places to stay in Argentina. I’ve been here twice now and loved both times. Very cool people, very cool building with interesting designs and furniture. It has an antique feeling and is very comfortable and cozy. We will return again next time we’re back in Ushuaia!

A good hostel with very nice staff, but I would highly recommend NOT booking room #3 unless you don’t mind being woken up at all hours of night/day. The room faced the road (traffic /pedestrian noise) and was adjacent to the public bathroom and entrance hallway. It was also very small. The manager was understanding and allowed us to sleep in another suite for one night when it was not booked. Staff were also very helpful in helping to arrange to have some medication sent to el calafate after I forgot it. Would stay again but in a suite room.

Rooms are Spartan...not much space but the beds are very comfy. The common room is inviting...like home, and it has a great view of the harbor. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Included breakfast is good and a definite plus. This is old school Patagonia lodging at a fair price. It's clear that this town is gearing up to accommodate a flood of rich geezers itching to see Antarctica and willing to pay big $ for 5* "Travel & Leisure" magazine type of accommodations. Lush condos are growing like weeds here. Not really my cup of tea but GREAT for the locals!
