Wonderful staff members! Vincent and Alejandro in particular were very kind and helpful. However everyone we encountered was nice. The hotel is very clean and was quiet despite being in downtown. The room furnishings could use a refresh, but they still were comfortable enough for our stay. Beds were a bit on the soft side but not uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet at Carlino was good and convenient. A bit of a wait on the weekend, not more than 10 minutes. We enjoyed our stay here and it offered convenient access to the sights in Vancouver.

Stayed here 3 days for a conference, and I am very happy that I landed on this hotel: it used to be the Shangri-La, and I believe it is in the process of being converted to a Park Hyatt, so it is beautiful and well-maintained. They have all the amenities you could need, and if there is anything missing, they are more than happy to provide it. The rooms are spacious, and I loved having my morning coffee on the balcony overlooking downtown. The hotel is centrally located, and everything is within walking distance. Their on-site restaurant Carlino is also highly rated and I had the pleasure of dining there as well, where everything I tried was delicious. I had a request that I made before arriving, and the team was quick and happy to help me: they made me feel like a valued guest, and I appreciated their care and consideration in this department. They anticipated my needs and were proactive in their service. That is a true 5-star experience!

Can’t really fault this hotel. Absolutely oozes class and comfort. The rooms are mint and the beds are incredibly comfortable. Toiletries are perfect. The ONLY issue I had was with the chap on the spa / pool level. He was on his phone and not paying attention when I was talking to him. I wouldn’t normally mind but it was as if I was inconveniencing him. He was polite to the woman going to the gym, so it would’ve been nice to have had the same courtesy. Still, that’s really the only flaw. The hotel itself is luxurious. I didn’t get a chance to try out the spa and pool, but I’d say the pool is smaller than it appears in the photos. Fab location though. I’d stay again if I could.

We recently stayed at Hyatt Vancouver Downtown Alberni, and were very impressed with the convenient location, great facilities, and exceptional service. Aashna truly made our visit memorable with her outstanding hospitality and professionalism. Unfortunately, we also had a negative interaction with a resident in the steam room that resulted in a disappointing experience. The resident was repeatedly doing leg kicks/swings directly in front of us and splashing water onto us. When we politely said, “Excuse me,” the resident responded aggressively. We reported the incident to the staff member on the floor, who was kind, understanding, and helpful. We appreciated that all hotel staff involved handled the situation professionally and respectfully. However, we hope the situation with the resident will be addressed appropriately so that all guests can feel safe and comfortable while using the hotel amenities. Despite this incident, the excellent service from the hotel staff left a very positive impression on us overall. We would gladly return in the future and hope to enjoy another relaxing stay.

We visited in the early July 2026. The location of this hotel is unbeatable if you like shopping. Everything is bit outdated, from the light switches to bathroom tiles. But they were doing a lot renovations trying to go up a tier in Hyatt, looking forward to that while they need quite some work. In terms of service, I was a little disappointed with the check-in process. It was during world cup so I expected we might check-in late. The standard check-in should be 4pm, while we waited until 6:30. We got a voucher to have a drink in the bar. But 6:30 was still too late.

Vincent at check in is so sweet and paid attention to detail. He made our first few moments in the hotel very relaxing. The room is beautiful and the bed is so comfy. Great experience!!! Thank you!
