The Hotel was classy, clean and very friendly. Extremely comfortable beds and lovely spacious bathrooms. We didn't need to park as we were in a taxi from the airport. We stayed here at the beginning and end of our road trip and were really happy with everything. The pool and hot tubs were closed, but we were informed of this in advance, so it wasn't an issue. We had drinks and a charcuterie board in the bar which was really pleasant (the drinks were free from a voucher we had been given on arrival). Despite being at the side of the main road, it was very quiet at night

We had a wonderful stay at Paradox Hotel! The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and housekeeping was always on time, attentive, and very helpful. The wind-down service was absolutely amazing and added such a special touch to our stay. All the staff were friendly, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. The hotel is also in a great location, making it easy to get around and enjoy the area. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would definitely recommend Paradox Hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with outstanding service. We would love to come back again!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Paradox! From the moment we arrived, the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Somehow our bags magically appeared in our room before we did, and everyone had great local recommendations. That kind of service really sums up our entire stay. Our room on the 19th floor had stunning views of Vancouver’s tall buildings and the water. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens felt luxurious, and I loved the morning and evening buttons that automatically raised and lowered the blackout blinds. The bathroom was gorgeous, with amazing views, tons of counter space, and a great mirror. My one tiny complaint? I may be one of the only people on earth who doesn’t love rain showers! 😂 The handheld sprayer couldn’t be adjusted above about waist height, so I had to hold it the entire time. But honestly, that was small potatoes compared with everything else we loved. The location is fantastic and walkable to so much of Vancouver, with wonderful restaurants nearby. And definitely don’t miss the famous ramen place (Danbo) a few blocks away! We felt truly pampered throughout our stay. After we left Vancouver and drove on to Whistler, we said more than once, “Can we just have our Paradox room back?” If you’re looking for a beautiful Vancouver hotel with luxurious rooms, a fabulous location, and some of the nicest hotel staff you’ll ever meet, this is the one!

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst exploring Vancouver as part of a wider trip. |The hotel is stunning - I'm not sure why it isn't 5 star. Pros: |* Gorgeous rooms! Very comfortable, modern and great quality amenities (robes, slippers, bathtub, toiletries, etc.). The toiletries smelt amazing.|* Great sized rooms for a city centre. Plenty of space.|* All the staff that we spoke to were very helpful and friendly.|* Central location meant that we could easily walk to places that we wanted to be. |* Luxury feel throughout the hotel and rooms. Cons:|* the pool was closed for the entirety of our of stay which was a shame.

We had an absolutely amazing stay from start to finish! The view was lovely and breathtaking, creating the most peaceful atmosphere. It is just outstanding and the perfect destination for a couples' weekend getaway. We left feeling completely refreshed and truly cannot recommend it enough.

Disappointing, to say the least. The location was lovely. The hotel was lovely, but I have to say the service leaves a lot to be desired. Credit card wasn’t working so had to use debit card for the incidentals which was $300. That means $300 is instantly taken out of my account. The next day upon checking out, I was told the system was down and I would have to come back, physically, into the hotel to have my $300 refunded!!! That didn’t work so well for me as I don’t live in Vancouver! I am from out of town. No option was given such as petty cash, which I know is always kept at hotels. So. I left. Upon contacting the Hotel later that day to let them know that I can’t come back into the hotel to retrieve my $300 that they now have and that I would like either a cheque or an e-transfer I was first of all told that was not possible. I then asked to speak to a manager. Then I was told that is possible, but everybody in the accounts payable department is away for five days. Everyone? Really? A cheque would be drafted after somebody returns. Almost 5 weeks passed before I received a check in the mail. Gosh, does that ever sour my opinion of this hotel. Not to mention the bottle of wine included (red only, no choice for white, which is preferable) had to be asked for on more than one occasion. Oh, and the pool and hot tub was inaccessible due to a private function. For $500+ for a first time here one night stay - not impressed with the customer care, at all.

We stayed three nights at the Paradox Hotel Vancouver. The exterior looked somewhat neglected, particularly the balcony glass, which appeared not to have been cleaned for some time. Views of Stanley Park and the water are limited. The indoor pool is closed indefinitely. There is a large hot tub area with fire pits, but no food or room service is allowed there. Kharma Lounge also does not allow charges to your hotel room, an odd limitation for a hotel lounge. The rooms are good at the Balcony level and above, which are called Signature Rooms. Below that category, I would choose the Rosewood Hotel Georgia or another nearby boutique hotel instead. One positive: our room overlooked Georgia Street and was remarkably quiet. The windows and drapes kept out street noise better than our experience at the former Shangri-La, now operating as a Hyatt. Dining is another consideration. Mott 32 is excessively expensive for Chinese food. Kirin, just a couple of blocks away, is much more reasonable, while Sun Sui Wah and Din Tai Fung provide other alternatives.

Unfortunately, I don’t think I would stay at Paradox again. The staff were friendly, but there were several things that really affected the overall experience. The biggest issue was a police incident on our floor. We were not allowed to access the floor for some time and were told it was because of “repairs,” while there was clearly a significant police presence. When we were eventually allowed back, we saw two people being arrested, and police remained outside one of the room for hours. I completely understand that staff may not be able to share details of a police matter, but I would have preferred a simple, honest explanation rather than being told it was repairs. Which is a complete lie. Accessibility was another disappointment. The main wheelchair-accessible entrance is on a side street without a proper pedestrian walkway, while the alternative accessible entrance through the restaurant is not obvious or clearly marked. Arriving for the first time was unnecessarily confusing. I also was surprised by the additional percentage-based transaction surcharge of 4%, especially considering the price and positioning of the hotel. There were things we liked, particularly the staff, but overall the experience did not match the level of hotel and service I expected based on how Paradox is advertised.
