Across from the Vienna State Opera, in the middle of the city, the Hotel Sacher Wien stands out. The five-star deluxe hotel’s rooms and suites are spread over seven floors, each fitted with the latest technology while keeping an exclusive, individual feel. The hotel is privately owned by the Guertler and Winkler families, and it has built a reputation as a leader in Viennese tradition, redefined through new worlds of soft colour. Individuality is a core value, and quality was the top priority in every respect.

Guests can expect outstanding service with an extra personal touch, delivered in an exclusive ambience that carries a distinctive Austrian charm. On the top floor, penthouse suites come with private terraces. The hotel is also known for the original Sacher Torte, which it produces and ships worldwide. For families, the Petit Sacher program has been relaunched with an open ear for their unique needs, and the Sacher Boutique Spa adds to the offerings.

Karlsplatz Underground Station and Stephansplatz Metro Station are both nearby, and the hotel is a one-minute walk from the Vienna State Opera, five minutes from the Hofburg, seven minutes from St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Kunsthistorisches Museum Wien, and eight minutes from St. Charles's Church.

Our stay at the Hotel Sacher Vienna coincided with a very special occasion: the celebration of our 34th wedding anniversary. We simply could not have chosen a more iconic place to mark such an important milestone. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with exceptional professionalism, combined with genuine warmth that made us feel truly valued as guests. The service throughout our stay was flawless—attentive, discreet, and always delivered with a smile. The hotel perfectly blends timeless Viennese elegance with every modern comfort. Our room was beautifully appointed, impeccably clean, incredibly comfortable, and reflected the rich history and prestige of this remarkable hotel. The location is second to none. Being just a few steps from the Vienna State Opera and within walking distance of so many of the city's most famous landmarks made our visit even more enjoyable. Breakfast was another highlight, offering an outstanding selection of high-quality products in a refined and elegant setting. These were unforgettable days that will forever be associated with one of the most meaningful moments of our lives. Hotel Sacher was much more than a place to stay—it became part of the memories we will cherish forever. Our sincere thanks to the entire team for making the celebration of our 34th wedding anniversary even more memorable. We truly hope to return one day.

Stayed for three nights earlier this week, in celebration of a milestone wedding anniversary. The place is romantic and magnificent, and the staff did everything a guest could ever want, and a couple of things even better than we could have asked for. When booking, tell them it's your anniversary/honeymoon/birthday, and watch them go to work - you'll love it! We had a lovely room with a large balcony, constant expert service, and access to some great restaurants. We did not eat the the Grune or the Rote, but we did have drinks and food a couple of times in the Blaue, which were well made, tasty and substantial. We also enjoyed coffee and breakfast at the Cafe, which is a true memory maker. This hotel stands apart from the rest, in a beautiful city, and we hope to return before too long.

This hotel is stunning! My friend and I went for the spa and it was an amazing experience! They outdid our expectations with little chocolates and fruit and tea immediately following our massage. Then a bottle of champagne came out!!! We also asked to try their sacher cake they are known for and the brought a small sample. It was pure delight. The sauna and steam room and waiting rooms were so nice!! The staff and manager Christie were so accommodating. A great experience.

BEST hotel in Vienna. I would not even try to find another. You cannot ask for a better location, or more clean/elegant/comfortable room accommodations, or sweeter (chocolate/Sacher Torte!) amenities, or better personal service. The entire staff - from the valet/doorman to the front desk to the concierge to the restaurant and housekeeping ladies and gentlemen - they all had the perfect demeanor and stuck a refreshing, welcoming balance of personal attention to our needs while not being overly intrusive or invasive of our space. If possible, we would have extended our vacation just to continue enjoying everything that Hotel Sacher has to offer.

I recently spent a week at this fabulous hotel and every element was perfect. My life dream had been to visit Vienna with this idea of perfection in my head, and chose to stay at this hotel to make my dream come true and wow was it special! I had a view of the Albertina and the room was just gorgeous! Perfection is the best word I have to describe this hotel, from the decor, the location, the service. Everything was amazing, so thank you so much for making my dream come true. I loved it so much I will visit again, with my mother, as I know she will love Vienna and this wonderful hotel. Danke.

Most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed. The hotel staffs are super nice and offer all kinds of assistance. The decorations are fantastic. Rote, bleu and gruner bars are decent and have clasical but fashion vibes. Strongly recommend.

What a wonderful experience! Truly lives up to its name. My husband and I had 4 beautiful days staying at Hotel Sacher for our anniversary. Not only is the hotel pure historic charm and luxury, the people who work there made us feel so special. All the little details in the room, everyone is smiling, always helpful, and kind. We felt so welcome. Enjoyed drinks at Blaue Bar many times, so intoxicatingly blue, sexy, and magical. We dined at the Rote bar twice, the food was exceptional and absolutely delicious, and Raphael who took care of us made our time even more special. Thank you for our time. We will be back.

I have stayed at this hotel on previous occasions and had been well pleased. After a few years absence due to covid etc I returned this last Christmas season. I was a bit shocked that a standard room now cost what a suite had last time I was there. I paid extra for a "view" room, only to find I was on the side of the building on the top floor with a "view" of the roof of the building across the street. A total misrepresentation. The room was large and the furnishings nice if not dated. No decorations of note. A huge toilet room, with nothing in it but a toilet, a huge waste of space. Christmas decorations in the lobby were a fraction of what was on display the last time I had visited. Staff were nice, the hotel was clean, and housekeeping did a good job. That said I did not feel that the experience justified over 1300 euro per night. Last time I was there I had a small suite for 800. That is a 100% price increase in 4 years. I guess it will be the Imperial next time.
