We had a wonderful stay at Lux Marijani! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere and excellent service. A special thank you to Gloria from Reception, who was amazing, supportive, and always ready to assist us with a smile. She truly made our stay even more enjoyable. We had a great experience and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended! ❤️

I had mixed feelings about my stay at LUX Marijani. There are definitely some lovely aspects to the hotel, and for most of my stay I thought the staff were fantastic — warm, friendly, attentive and genuinely welcoming. However, for a hotel positioned at this level, some of the facilities were disappointing. The gym is very small with limited equipment, and the pool is also quite small and feels dated compared with the rest of the property. The buffet was probably one of the biggest let-downs for me. I found the food quite repetitive and uninspiring, and after a few days it became boring. I would have expected much more variety and quality from a resort of this standard. Unfortunately, the biggest disappointment came when I was leaving. As soon as it became apparent that I was checking out, the behaviour of some staff noticeably changed. There was a lot of lingering around while I was preparing to leave and it became uncomfortably obvious that a tip was being expected. I am more than happy to tip when someone has provided great service, but I don’t like feeling pressured into doing so. It actually made me question some of the wonderful service I’d experienced beforehand, because what had initially felt warm and genuine suddenly felt transactional. It’s a shame because there is a lot to like about LUX Marijani and I did have some genuinely lovely interactions with members of staff. With improvements to the buffet, gym and pool area — and a more discreet approach to tipping — the overall experience could be considerably better.

The spot is beautiful with nicely furnished rooms and tidy environment. I would like to express my gratitude to Musa , who always accompanied my friend and me during meals . Also Khamis and Ali who were kind to us . But there is one thing happened to us which has completely spoilt the impression : during the last breakfast, served in room , we have got a food poisoning . We spent almost a day flying back so imagine our feelings: from nausea to diarrhea and vomiting and all these symptoms we experienced in a plane . 100% sure the reason of food poisoning is in the hotel food . As we didn’t eat anything on that day . So , completely disappointed .

I have just returned form the most wonderful, relaxing vacation at Lux Marijana. A true oasis in Zanzibar. The style of the resort is sublime- luxurious, boutique-ish, lush and charming. Rooms are spacious with massive well appointed bathrooms. The room also had a beautiful bay window. Lux also had a series of activities everyday (yoga, stretching, walks etc). I took part in water aerobics which was super fun! Never before on any of my travels have I experienced hospitality like I did at Lux, each and every member of staff went above and beyond not because they had to but because they wanted to. Wide selection of good quality good options. We felt so at home! A real treat, highly recommend and hope to return.

From the minute we arrived, until the minute we left, we had a fantastic time. If, like us, you prefer a quieter and more relaxed hotel, this is the place for you. Set in beautifully tended grounds, it is strikingly clean everywhere. Our room, an executive garden room, was very large and had a huge, comfortable bed. The bathroom had a shower as well as a bath and there was an outdoor shower too. The room facilities included coffee and tea making equipment, a smart TV, and a well stocked mini fridge. The air conditioning was quiet and effective. Although the room had a mosquito net, the turn down service also included mosquito spray and we didn't get bitten once. I suspect this was also in part to the hotel treating the grounds on occasion too.|Without question, the hotel's most outstanding feature is the staff. They really are the most genuinely friendly, kind and charming people we have encountered. We were always greeted with a smile, their service was attentive and anything was dealt with immediately. Nothing seemed too much trouble. I wish we could name everyone, but particular thanks go to Furahar, Mrisho, Mustafa and Martin.|Last but not least, what a beautiful beach. Fine white sand and clear, reasonably calm water, with palms and coconut trees that finish off the hotel perfectly. Private security gives a peace of mind, but the local beach vendors don't take liberties and never come close to hotel guests. If you want something from them, just go to them.|We had a fantastic fortnight and thank the management and staff of the Lux* Marijani for looking after us so well. You are a credit to the company you work for.

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful resort in Zanzibar. The sunrise and sunset views were absolutely breathtaking and made every day feel special. The rooms were fantastic… very spacious, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The food was also excellent with a great variety of delicious meals throughout our stay. What stood out most was how family friendly the resort is. The atmosphere was relaxing, welcoming, and perfect! I would highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Zanzibar, especially adult families looking for a peaceful and memorable getaway.

Location:|If you’re looking for a magnificent beach, look no further. In my opinion, it is probably one of the nicest beaches in Zanzibar. Atmosphere:|Relaxed but chic. The resort has a very pleasant atmosphere — stylish without feeling pretentious. Rooms:|Spacious and elegantly furnished, with a very comfortable bed. Everything was well maintained and made for a very relaxing stay. Value:|We stayed as part of a travel package combining a safari and a beach resort, so I’m not really in a position to comment precisely on the value compared with booking the resort separately. It was also our first time in Zanzibar, so I don’t have much to compare it with. That said, I would say you get very good bang for your buck. Staff:|I would particularly like to give a shout-out to the staff, without whom the whole resort simply wouldn’t run as smoothly as it does. In general, the staff are friendly, extremely service-oriented, always available, accommodating and genuinely keen to please. Their attitude really makes a difference to the overall experience. Extraordinary. I would also like to mention a few members of the team who particularly stood out during our stay: * Rehema at Reception, who organised tailor-made solutions, events and outings for us to a T. She was incredibly helpful and made everything feel effortless. * Pendo, Yasmine, Claudia, Jackson and Deo from the serving team — just to name a few. Everyone was top notch. Always smiling, helpful and attentive. Overall, we had a great experience at LUX Marijani. Beautiful setting, a relaxed and elegant atmosphere, and above all, a fantastic team of people who clearly take pride in making guests feel welcome. We would happily come back.

I had a cancellation issue with my booking and was honestly unsure of what to do, but the team at Lux Marijani were incredibly helpful and understanding. I had the pleasure of speaking with the wonderful Rooma on the phone, and she was absolutely fantastic. She took the time to listen, understand the situation and help me in every way she could. Her kindness, professionalism and willingness to help really stood out and made what could have been a stressful situation so much easier. It was clear that the team genuinely cared about helping their guests. I’m extremely grateful for the support I received and it has made me even more excited about staying at Lux Marijani. From the excellent customer service to the warm and welcoming approach, everything has been fantastic so far. A special thank you to Rooma for being so wonderful and helpful. She is a real credit to the hotel! I would definitely recommend Lux Marijani to anyone looking for a beautiful stay with exceptional hospitality. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
