Elegant historic luxury, exceptional hospitality and a standout breakfast A beautifully maintained older building with a distinctly elegant, high-end atmosphere and plenty of character. While its age is evident, the property has been cared for exceptionally well and still feels thoroughly upmarket. This was a lovely boutique hotel experience in Zurich, enhanced by genuinely warm, attentive and thoughtful service that made us feel exceptionally well looked after. We stayed in a Deluxe Suite, which was impressively spacious, with a separate living area and a generously appointed bathroom featuring both a bathtub and shower. The heated towel rack was an unexpectedly practical touch, particularly for drying clothes while travelling. Breakfast was a genuine highlight — beautifully presented, high-quality à la carte dishes that felt closer to a fine-dining experience than a typical hotel breakfast. Easily one of the best breakfasts of our European trip. The location was convenient, with many of Zurich's main attractions within comfortable walking distance. The main drawback was the air-conditioning, which struggled to cool the spacious suite adequately. Worth considering if visiting during warmer weather, particularly given the hotel's premium positioning. Overall, a refined and comfortable stay offering old-world elegance, excellent hospitality, generous room sizes and a truly standout breakfast. 8.5/10 — highly recommended for travellers who value space, comfort, personalised service and an upmarket atmosphere.

Stunning hotel in a great location in Zurich. A short walk from everything: restaurants, the lake, the shops on Bahnhofstrasse and even the FIFA museum. Room was incredibly spacious and the staff are wonderful. A special thanks to Aris who went above and beyond with his professionalism, kindness and attentiveness. He is an absolute asset to this wonderful hotel, can’t wait to stay again. Thank you, team!

I’ve been fortunate to visit over 40 countries in my lifetime and stay at lots of fabulous hotels. This is definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had. The staff is simply incredible and attentive and friendly. The food is fantastic. The location is great and the rooms are very large. It has old world, charm, and coziness too. We will definitely stay here next time we come back to Zürich.

This is a boutique classic hotel located in the center of Zurich but in a quiet community. It has walking distance to the lake of Zurich and train station. 10-15 mins walk to old town. The hotel allows on site free parking which provides great convenience to cross country travellers like us. Room and bathroom are very spacious and the food is absolutely delicious. The bedding is comfortable with high quality liners. It has public resting area with chess that allows family bonding. The staff is extremely helpful and effective to solve problems for me. Their service is very personal and attends to details. Every time we go out they offer bottles of waters - really saved us for city walk in a hot weather. This is an absolute great hotel for families who cares about privacy and service. This is not for people who likes flashy five star international brand hotel. But if you are looking for classic, elegant, quiet and attentive stay with privacy, this is the perfect choice. The room rate is definitely very competitive to all other five star hotels in the same area! I would strongly recommend to my close friends and family members.

Outstanding hospitality and genuine attention to guest satisfaction. My wife and I stayed here during our honeymoon, and the hotel exceeded all expectations. The complimentary room upgrade was a wonderful surprise and demonstrated a level of care and generosity that is rarely seen. It made us feel truly valued as guests. The Alden Hotel, is one of the best hotels I visited. From the first entry, it felt cozy, luxurious, warm. It doesn’t have the fake commercial big hotel vibe, but a very chill, old school, luxurious style. All of the staff, managers, that I have met, were always there for everything. The rooms especially the bedroom is just out of a movie. Food is amazing, especially when sitting outside, but indoor is just classy. Highly recommend and see you soon! Arijan.

Even though we only came for dinner, we fell in love with the hotel. The lobby is beautiful, elegant, and full of character, with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. One thing that really stood out was the library. It has an impressive collection of vintage books, including several about Zurich. It was so interesting to look through them. It's such a unique touch and something you don't come across very often. Everyone we met was genuinely welcoming and always had a smile on their face, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. We'll definitely be back. It's one of those places that leaves a lasting impression.

My wife and I have been traveling through Switzerland during this heat wave. We picked the Hotel Alden because of its air conditioning and it didn’t disappoint. The air con worked great even though it was 90-94 F every day we were in Zurich.|Couple that with a great staff who were friendly, courteous and helpful every time we had a question and the most comfortable beds ever, it was a a winning combination.|Also, near a park, public transport, and the Lake so that was an added bonus.|Look no further…stay here!
