We had an outstanding stay at Sorell Stadthotel Rütli and would gladly stay here again. The location is fantastic—right in the heart of Zürich’s Old Town, with restaurants, shops, and many of the city’s main attractions just a short walk away. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was included each morning and featured scrambled eggs, pancakes, a wide variety of fresh breads, cheeses, yogurt, fruit, cereals, and many other options. You could also order freshly prepared fried eggs and any specialty coffee drink you wanted. We especially appreciated the excellent selection of vegan options as well. One thing to note for travelers visiting during the summer: the rooms do not have what many Americans would consider traditional air conditioning. Instead, they use a cooling system that keeps the room comfortable. We visited during an unusual heat wave, so while the room never became ice cold, it remained comfortable and was certainly much better than having no cooling at all. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay, the hotel was spotless, and the included breakfast alone made this an exceptional value. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Sorell Stadthotel Rütli to anyone visiting Zürich.

Very easy to get to from the train station, less than 10 mins walk. Steps away from Niederdorfstrasse, a busy street filled with restaurants and shops. Prior to arrival, the hotel provided an option to check -in online. However , I did not do that. Otherwise the check in process would be much faster. The room was a good size. Had all the necessary amenities, toiletries, coffee , tea, chocolate etc. At the lobby, there were apples, candies and coffee bar. There were bikes one could borrow too. My husband rode the bike to Lake Zurichsee every morning prior to breakfast. The breakfast buffet was surprisingly good. So many choices, including vegan option. The ladies who served us were all very friendly and efficient.

My room is considered good size for Swiss standard, better than expected as we already know how expensive hotels in Switzerland are. Breakfast is adequate and basic, free tea and coffee available at lobby all day, do grab a drink on your way out. Toilets amenities are lacking so do bring your own toothbrush and shower cap. Located between Zurich bahnhof and old town, it’s convenient getting around.

The staff are courteous.The single rooms are definitely single.but without adequate fresh air.The step up shower tray does not have any safety grip handles given the slippery tray surface &DEFINITELY NOT SUITABLE FOR SENIORS OR FOR PERSONS WITH MOBILITY ISSUES. Breakfast minimal but adequate offering.Generally 1990 standards & 2026 prices. Regards to the staff.

Location in the tourist district. 6 minute walk from train station. Breakfast was nice. Room was made up,shower hot, bed comfortable. Has AC, mini fridge, safe, laundry service for a fee. No airport shuttle as stated, $70 taxi to airport. Took the train instead, 10 minute ride.

They might tell you the rooms have air conditioning but the only thing it does is blow warm air. There was no “compressor” click or anything from the unit it’s self so it was not working. I had someone take a look at it and she told me that’s normal and that the AC isn’t like home. Which is understandable to an extent but if there’s a big ac unit mounted to the wall it should at least blow coolish air. The room itself self was very clean though.

Do not stay here for the love of god! I am a very reasonable person, so I write this with passion and read thoroughly. I recently stayed here for two nights, and need I tell you that the only thing positive I have to say is that they fed us breakfast. During check in, staff was not helpful and extremely dismissive and rude when it came to discussing a booking issue we encountered. Rooms were poorly cleaned with dusty floors; and I must say that I had some of the worst sleep of my life. The room was a sauna. With both AC units blasting, I still found myself waking up in a puddle of sweat because of how poorly they functioned. The WiFi was awful. I couldn’t send a text for two days because the WiFi couldn’t do anything. When we called to have it checked, the answer we got was “that’s normal *hangs up*” The hotel is in a very happening part of town, so if your goal is to go out and party, this is a good place for you. If you have kids and want quiet, do not stay here. The bars in the area kept us up till midnight. Do not pay for this overpriced scam. Save your money and go elsewhere! PLEASE!

My family had a wonderful stay at this hotel recently. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our visit. They provided a crib for our baby and even helped us secure last-minute tickets to the Lindt Home of Chocolate, which made our trip even more special. The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were comfortable, modern, and well appointed. The location is exceptionally convenient—just steps from the Central tram station and only a few minutes from Zurich Hauptbahnhof. The Polybahn is right next door as well, and it’s a fun ride with amazing views of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zurich.
