Bijoux Falls Provincial Park
Bijoux Falls Provincial Park is a small day-use park tucked right alongside the John Hart Highway (BC Highway 97) in northern British Columbia, where a tiered cascade tumbles over mossy rock into a startling pool of aqua-green water. It is the kind of stop that rewards curiosity: you pull off a long, tree-lined stretch of highway and, within a few minutes, you are hearing the falls and feeling their mist. There is no camping and no crowds of developed trails here—just a roadside viewpoint, picnic tables, and a waterfall that earns a place on almost every northern BC road trip. Set in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Trench about two hours' drive north of Prince George, the park works equally well as a quick leg-stretching break and as a destination in its own right for a short, scenic visit. A fenced platform frames the main cascade and the setting light makes it a favourite for photography, while for the more adventurous, a steep informal path climbs to the top of the falls for a completely different view.
