AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Bijoux Falls Provincial Park is a small day-use park tucked right alongside the John Hart Highway (BC Highway 97) in northern British Columbia, where a tiered cascade tumbles over mossy rock into a startling pool of aqua-green water. It is the kind of stop that rewards curiosity: you pull off a long, tree-lined stretch of highway and, within a few minutes, you are hearing the falls and feeling their mist. There is no camping and no crowds of developed trails here—just a roadside viewpoint, picnic tables, and a waterfall that earns a place on almost every northern BC road trip.↗↗↗
Set in the foothills of the Rocky Mountain Trench about two hours' drive north of Prince George, the park works equally well as a quick leg-stretching break and as a destination in its own right for a short, scenic visit. A fenced platform frames the main cascade and the setting light makes it a favourite for photography, while for the more adventurous, a steep informal path climbs to the top of the falls for a completely different view.↗↗
