City Park Amusement Park
City Park Amusement Park—known locally as Shahrbāzi-ye Pārak-e Shahr—tucks its fairground rides inside Park-e Shahr, Tehran's oldest public park, in the lively Sanglaj neighbourhood of District 12. It is a small, family-friendly pleasure ground rather than a mega-park: a cluster of classic carnival rides, kiddie attractions and games set beneath the park's tall plane and poplar trees, popular with parents bringing young children for an evening of low-key fun. Its real strength is the setting. The rides are only one piece of a 25-hectare park packed with things to do—boating on a decades-old artificial lake, a bird garden and a birdwatching hide, an aquarium, the Peace Museum and shaded promenades—so a fairground visit naturally becomes a full afternoon or evening out for the whole family.
