Pattaya Water Park

Pattaya Water Park is Pattaya's original splash-and-play destination, a classic beachfront water park set on the grounds of the long-established Pattaya Park Beach Resort along Dongtan Beach near Jomtien. Since 1985, families have come here for its colorful slides, lazy river, wave pool, and whirlpools — all for a fraction of what newer mega-parks charge, with the added bonus of direct ocean access. What sets Pattaya Water Park apart from other Thai water parks is its compact, walkable layout paired with an unexpected vertical thrill: the 52-story Pattaya Park Tower next door offers a skydiving-style Tower Jump, observation deck rides, and a revolving restaurant with panoramic views of Pattaya Bay. Together, the park and tower make it easy to fill a full day without spending a fortune.

Wat Yanasangwararam Woramahavihara

Wat Yanasangwararam Woramahavihara — known simply as Wat Yan — is a vast royal temple complex spread across 58 hectares of landscaped grounds just south of Pattaya. Founded in 1976 and granted the status of a first-class royal monastery in 1988, it brings together meditation halls, ornate chedis, international-style pavilions, a lakeside garden, and a hilltop footprint shrine in a single sprawling estate. The main grounds are free to enter, open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM. What makes Wat Yan unusual is the sheer variety of its sacred architecture: a 39-metre white stupa honouring Thailand's Chakri dynasty, a faithful replica of India's Mahabodhi Temple, a Buddha image cast from 84,044 bronze alms-bowl lids, eight pavilions representing different nations, and a traditional scripture hall built over water. The complex remains a working monastery where monks conduct daily meditation, so the atmosphere is one of genuine devotion rather than staged tourism.

The Sanctuary of Truth Museum

On a sea-facing promontory in North Pattaya, the Sanctuary of Truth rises 105 metres above the Gulf of Thailand — a vast temple built entirely from teak and hardwood, without a single metal nail. Conceived in 1981 by Thai billionaire and art patron Lek Viriyaphan, the structure is covered inside and out with tens of thousands of hand-carved figures drawing on Hindu, Buddhist, Chinese, and Khmer traditions. It is still under active construction after more than four decades, a deliberate choice: the founders say the search for truth never ends.

Wat Mai Hat Krathung Thong

Tucked into the Jomtien side of Pattaya, Wat Mai Hat Krathung Thong is the kind of local Thai temple you might walk past on the way to the beach and never think twice about. That is exactly why it is worth slowing down for. A working monastery rather than a polished tourist site, it rewards the casual visitor with ornate halls, the unhurried rhythm of monastic life, and a calm pocket of green and gold in the middle of one of Thailand's busiest resort stretches. Set along Jomtien Beach Road in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung District, the wat opens every day from 7 AM to 6 PM and asks no entrance fee, so a visit costs little more than a short detour from the sand. Reviewers consistently describe it as a peaceful spot, and a handful of practical notes — modest dress, an early-closing shrine hall, a forecourt that doubles as a parking lot — make for a smoother visit once you know them.

Iyara Park

Iyara Park (ไอยรา ปาร์ค) is a sprawling wildlife-and-outdoor attraction set on more than 22 rai (about 3.5 hectares) of land in the Nong Plalai area of eastern Pattaya, Bang Lamung District, Chon Buri. The Thai name ไอยรา is a literary word for 'elephant', and the park was built as a family-friendly stop on day-tour itineraries, offering visitors the unusual thrill of feeding large freshwater crocodiles at fenced ponds. In recent years the park was best known among Chinese tour groups, who came for hands-on wildlife encounters across its wide compound. Google Maps still lists it as operational and open, and the site maintains a perfect 5-star rating from its small number of reviews, though detailed up-to-date information on what's currently on offer is limited.
