An absolute disgrace. Last night, my boyfriend and I were supposed to check in at this Ibis Budget hotel in Girona, where we had booked a stay until Sunday while attending an European championship competition in Banyoles, rapresenting his nation. We arrived at around 10:00 p.m. and found a very long queue at reception. The waiting time was unbelievable, with each check-in taking around 45 minutes. While everyone was waiting patiently, we simply asked, between two check-ins, whether it would be possible to pay for the room the following morning. The receptionist, he didn’t want to say his name, responded in a very rude manner, repeatedly saying that it "wasn't his problem" and that we were free to leave if we didn't like it. We pointed out that we had only asked a simple question. Another guest even stepped in to defend us, agreeing that the response was inappropriate. We then mentioned that, considering the extremely long waiting times, a more courteous attitude would have been appreciated. At that point, the situation escalated. The receptionist started raising his voice, using offensive and vulgar language, insulting us and speaking to us in a disrespectful and degrading manner. We fully understand that he was working alone at the reception and was under considerable pressure. However, this does not justify treating paying guests with such aggression and disrespect. In all my years of travelling, I have never been treated this way. As a result, my boyfriend and I decided to leave the hotel and find accommodation elsewhere. After such an experience, we will never return to this property as long as customer service is handled in this way. This guy can’t fit this position in any way.

The hotel was extremely far away from the center of town, and public transport did not run frequently enough for us to take it. We barely saw any taxis either, so the walk from and to the hotel was quite unpleasant, especially under the hot sun. Furthermore, the recepcionist that checked us in was rather rude to both my partner and me. Also, the website said there was a bathtub in the room, which was not true. It was a walk-in shower, which is fine, but don't lie when advertising the room.

NEVER AGAIN! The service is so bad, everything smells like cigarettes, you will find spiders in the room and I’ve had an allergic reaction from the dirty bedding. The fact that you will pay 260 euros for ONE night is not cheap you can find other places in Girona for less and better. I hope they will get inspection cuz this can’t stay like this.

Myself and my partner weren't expecting much and were a bit dubious about our upcoming 3 night stay. Going by previous traveller reviews. As soon as we arrived at 10am ( bearing in mind check-in was from 2pm) We were told our room was ready plus we booked a late checkout untill 6pm on our day of departure which was only another €15.|Excellent value for money. The whole hotel is absolutely spotless. Including the toilet facilities. Our double room was just the same . Plenty of space . Fabulous bathroom with a big shower. Once again spotless and smelling lovely. Brand new towels and shower mat . Plus plenty of handsoap and shower gel.|Our room was cleaned everyday and bedding and towels changed too. Buffet breakfast was spot on with plenty of choice and beautiful and fresh tasting. Nice bar . Plenty of seating facilities inside and out plus the grounds were well maintained and spotless too.|Staff pleasant and helpful. Plenty of information available in reception area for getting around Girona in general. |All in all a very pleasant stay . Considering it is classed as a 2 star I'd say more a 3 . I'd recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a city break or a one night stay. And only a 20 walk into old town Girona a beautiful city and definitely worth a visit.

Everything was ok (accommodation , staff, cleaning) ..but ....The main problem was the noise at early hours of the morning.. 7:00..and late at night after 23:00 even at 00:00 .That's way whe booked the hotel in the first place to have the silence needed to rest after visiting the area for the whole day (beaches, attractions, shopping).

1st time in a budget and you can tell why. As soon as we opened the door to the room (I think 220) the smell of cigarettes hit you. Luckily the window opened and I had some air freshener with me. Burn marks on the floor at sides of the beds, no kettle for tea or coffee. Air con didnt work, mattresses were rock hard. Managed to get some sleep but in the end left very early to get out of the place. Never again will I visit a budget ibis.
