We had a wonderful stay in the Royal Suite WALD at Hallstatt Hideaway. The room has plenty of character and, above all, beautiful views over the lake. The housekeeper was particularly proactive and helpful, checking in on us and making an effort to ensure that everything was in order. We also loved the bathtub. Having such a substantial bathtub in a heritage property like this must have been quite a challenge to install, and it makes for a rather special feature of the suite. There are a few areas where the experience could be made even better. More regular housekeeping, particularly to sweep away spiderwebs that accumulate along the high ceilings, would help maintain the premium feel of the suite. Ventilation could also be improved — the Dyson air purifier/filter appeared to be exhausted and due for replacement or servicing. Finally, a newer and better television would be a worthwhile upgrade given the overall standard and price point of the accommodation. These are suggestions rather than deal-breakers. Overall, the WALD Suite is a beautiful and distinctive place to stay in Hallstatt, combining the charm of an older property with fantastic views and thoughtful service. We enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend it.

This is an amazing hotel and you're staying in a piece of history which is super cool. And they've renovated it to make it luxurious, especially compared to the standard hotel or accommodation in Hallstatt which is a basic bed and breakfast. The suites are cozy and charming with old style wood, jacuzzi hot tubs (awesome in the cold weather!) and fireplaces. Theres even modern spa facilities on site. It was exactly the charm and luxury we wanted right in the middle of the old town. Don't believe the other reviews saying anything negative. Sure you have to take your luggage up some stairs but that's everywhere in the town because of how it's laid out. This is probably the nicest place to stay in town and we stayed in 2 separate suites with no issues and great service from the staff.

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful and memorable place. The location was perfect—right in the heart of Hallstatt—yet it felt peaceful, cozy, and quiet, away from the busy tourist areas. From our room, we were able to enjoy the full, breathtaking scenery of Hallstatt, which made our stay even more special. The property itself was not only beautiful but also very comfortable and thoughtfully maintained. The management generously offered us access to a private sauna free of charge, which was a fantastic experience and added great value to our stay. We truly appreciated this thoughtful gesture. The manager was exceptionally kind and provided outstanding service throughout our visit, making us feel very welcome and well taken care of. We highly recommend this place for families looking for a relaxing and memorable stay in Hallstatt. We sincerely thank the management and the manager for their excellent service and hospitality.

The stay was amazing at Hideaway, the communication was good and they cleaned the room daily. Everything in the hotel was provided for and we truly enjoyed everything about the stay. The guest service even carried the luggage up the flight of steps to the room. In a typical hotel, I’d expect it but not for a smaller resort.

What a place! Beautifully restored house in the middle of Hallstatt with lakeside view. Quiet and cozy with charming details like a seperate exclusive garden to go for a swim, a fireplace, sauna and much more. The breakfast was a delight, same was the service. It is rather a personal boutique experience with individual flair than the typical tourist mainstream.

We had a wonderful stay at Hallstatt Hideaway! The property is absolutely lovely with stunning, unbeatable views of the lake. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our visit, and the breakfast was easily the highlight of the mornings, hands down the best we had on our trip. Highly recommend!

The staff were very friendly and responsive. The room exceeded my expectations - it's in a great location with a view of the lake outside. The room itself is spacious and well-equipped, and I really liked the large table and bed in there - absolutely wonderful. The wonderful accommodation experience made a great first impression on me

The view from our room was amazing! And so was our space. The owner was very kind and welcoming as well and did a beautiful spread for breakfast for 25 euros per person (it was so beautiful and delicious). The name fits the location perfectly…truly a hideaway! It took us 40 minutes to find the location…no signs appointed us to the location and it was tough lugging all of our luggage through all of Hallstatt in the hot. Also, there are lots of stairs to get to the location so be mindful of that as well. Also, cars cannot go through Hallstatt unless you live there so our driver had to drop us off in the parking garage by the tunnel and we had to embark on our journey. Despite the adventure to the hotel, I would recommend because the view you just can’t beat. We slept looking at the stars and woke up to a fairytale scenery. Looked like Arendelle from Frozen!
