Booked a trip through trip masters and so glad that we picked mountain paradise for our first stop. The grounds were beautiful. We even saw a sloth and it's baby on our first morning and visited them every morning during our stay and haven't seen one since. Loved seeing the wildlife on the property. The pool was phenomenal and service was even better. Everyone on their grounds was so nice and helpful. From the front desk, the restaurant workers, bar tenders, groundskeepers, and receptionists. We even meet the manager who was the one to show us the sloths. Room was perfect! I can't say enough about this place! I highly recommend and would definitely stay here again. ¡Muchas Gracias mis ticos! ¡Pura Vida! Del corazon de un Mexicano. -los Santiagos. ¡Nos veremos pronto!

We had such a wonderful experience! Everything about the property was absolutely beautiful, clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The property itself was amazing and made our stay feel so relaxing and enjoyable. A special shoutout to Kenny, Naomi, and Mannual—they were absolutely incredible! They were so kind, welcoming, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. All of the other staff members were also wonderful and provided such great service. Overall, this was an amazing stay from beginning to end. The beautiful property, incredible staff, and exceptional hospitality made the experience truly special. We would absolutely love to come back and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a wonderful stay!

A very beautiful property and great staff. We loved our stay there including the room and surroundings. The breakfast was pretty good also. Only negative would be the sound from the pool (music) if your room is close to it. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay including the property, the plants, the birds we saw in there.

Unforgettable Stay with World-Class Hospitality Our stay at the Mountain Paradise Hotel in La Fortuna was absolutely incredible, largely because of the outstanding staff who went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome. A few special shout-outs are highly deserved: Naomi at Reception: She was absolutely lovely, warm, and extremely helpful from the moment we checked in. Her welcoming attitude set the perfect tone for our entire trip. Adrian: Also incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay. Dennis (from Canada): Truly one of the nicest people we’ve ever met! He was exceptionally friendly to my family, made us feel right at home, and was a massive help when it came to the food. Tony (Anthony): Brought fantastic energy and made sure that we were always having a great time! The beautiful surroundings of La Fortuna paired with this level of genuine, top-tier service made our vacation unforgettable. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and will definitely be back!

Duplex or stand alone abodes nestled away on the hillside amongst tropical foliage. Each room with excellent views of the volcano. AC very clean and air very fresh. Staff is extremely accommodating. Ample space for a couple or small group to feel isolated, maximum privacy among guest units. Waterfall shower, outdoor hot tub. Easy walk to pool or restaurant, but staff will pick you up on a cart if you call them. Take a picture of the map or you might have an adventure finding your room after dinner like we did. Price is excellent for what we got, but I expect that may change after renovations are complete (quiet construction completion of other units currently in progress). Breakfast is easily a $30+ value per person, large variety of quality items, included with room rate.

My family of 4 (two adults and two kids ages 9 and 12) stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while on vacation in La Fortuna. Overall this hotel was a great option for our family to stay at while we were on vacation. This hotel is a great value and worth the money you pay to stay here. The room- positives: We had a relatively basic room that we were very happy with. It was HUGE and we had lots of space that was great for us. We had two beds in our room but they were both king size (or similar) and absolutely massive. The bathroom was large and unique and we enjoyed the patio area for while the kids were falling asleep. Room was very clean and well cleaned daily. It was very quiet and excellent for sleeping after a busy day! The room- neutral/negatives: -There is no fridge in the room and getting access to ice wasn't easy (just a super long trek from our room and they would give you a tiny amount.) The water from the tap also isn't cold so getting cold water was difficult. -Our room was at the very back of the resort- which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It was just far and kind of difficult to navigate with the kids in the dark. They did always have golf carts available to take you to your room if needed. But walking around or to and from the restaurant or pool wasn't easy. -Apparently in La Fortuna there is a water shut off that happens nightly at 10:00 p.m. I guess some resorts have reservoirs but this one does not. This means that once the resort has used their water supply for the day, there is no more water. So brushing your teeth or showering may not be possible at night. I understand this may impact other parts of La Fortuna as well, which is totally fine. It would have been nice if the front desk had given us a heads up on this when we arrived. One night I wasn't able to shower or brush my teeth as planned! Restaurant: - We did not like the restaurant and I would recommend avoiding it. We found it very expensive for dinner and not very good. The service was not good at any time of day....breakfast or dinner. -The breakfast buffet was okay... the food was okay but not great. It was nice that breakfast was "free" and included. Service was bad and they were not at all good at accommodating dietary restrictions. They were often out of water and would be annoyed to fill or provide water, or coffee or really anything. Pool & View and Environment We didn't spend as much time at the pool as we wanted too but it was great!! It was warm and the kids really enjoyed it. There was also a swim up bar where you could order drinks. The view from this hotel is amazing and the highlight for sure. From our room we had a clear view of the volcano and it was beautiful!! At this hotel you are also definitely right in the jungle. All the rooms are little one-story houses in the jungle. It is very spread out and you feel like you are really truly in the middle of the rainforest (because you are.) We had armadillos outside our room, we saw frogs, toucans and all sorts of wildlife on the grounds. Overall we were satisfied with our stay at this hotel. We paid a reasonable amount of money for a reasonable hotel. It was luxurious by any means but it checked all the boxes of the things we needed. We overall enjoyed having lots of space in our room and having spectacular views of the volcano. The wildlife was also pretty awesome all around us.

We stayed here for 2 nights and overall had a mixed but mostly positive experience. The location is absolutely beautiful—nestled in the foothills of a volcano, surrounded by lush trees and vegetation. It’s very peaceful, with birds singing in the morning and occasional wildlife sightings. Walking around the property felt incredibly relaxing and close to nature. The outdoor heated pools were a highlight—clean and enjoyable. They also have a swim-up (wet) bar, which is a nice touch, though the drinks and food were a bit pricey. The beds were decent, but we did have an issue with dust and small wood chips falling from the ceiling onto the bed, which was a bit uncomfortable. The outdoor hot tub also didn’t seem well-maintained—it had dirty water when we tried to use it, almost like it hadn’t been used or cleaned in a while. On a positive note, the breakfast was amazing and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, a great spot for nature and relaxation, but there’s room for improvement in maintenance and upkeep.

This resort was BEAUTIFUL and privately tucked away from the slightly busier La Fortuna city. Walking the grounds of this resort was worth it on its own, just stunning. You can tell the rooms are a little dated, but still really nice and clean, lots of space. We had 3 beds in our room, including a king. The bathrooms were really cool, with 2 showers - one normal shower and one that came out of a rock formation, waterfall style. We also had a private tub on outside patio, which was a nice touch. Typically, you'd have views of the Arenal volcano, but we had some fog during our stay. The restaurant on site has a great breakfast buffet (included) and some good options for room service at night. However - beware that you are fully disconnected from civilization out here. The hotel WiFi did not reach our room, and the cell service this far out did not work either. We also did not have a working TV in our room - so it was a good chance for us to disconnect from technology. Overall, great place to stay for easy access to La Fortuna and Arenal.
