AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Tucked into the forests of Brandenburg's Nuthe-Nieplitz Nature Park, roughly an hour's drive south of Berlin, Camp Dobbrikow on the Glienicksee offers a rare combination that draws families and nature lovers alike: a pristine sandy beach on one of the region's cleanest lakes, set within a well-kept camping and holiday village. Regulars call it "the Pearl in the South of Berlin," and the appeal is easy to understand — crystal-clear swimming water, a golden sand beach with beach volleyball and a children's playground right on the shore, and the deep quiet of a woodland setting.↗↗
Whether you come for a single day of swimming or a week of camping under the pines, the Glienicksee provides a genuine escape from urban life without requiring a long journey. The beach is open to day visitors during the season, and the camp offers everything from tent pitches to stylish tiny houses for a lakeside getaway.↗↗
The Beach and the Lake
The Glienicksee is officially classified as one of the cleanest bathing waters in Brandenburg, a distinction confirmed by the state's regular water-quality monitoring. Its shores are lined with fine golden sand — reportedly the nicest natural bathing beach in the Teltow-Fleming region — and the water stays clear and shallow enough for wading. During the season, the Strandbad (beach) welcomes day visitors with a lifeguard on duty, so you can swim with confidence.
