AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Løkenhavna klatrefelt is a long, low sun-trap of steep sport-climbing cliffs tucked into the Bærumsmarka woods just outside Oslo, beside the Løkenhavna housing estate near Bærums Verk. For over three decades it has been one of the Oslofjord region's go-to crags for powerful, short routes on big holds — the kind of place climbers reach for after work when they want real rock and a proper pump without a long approach.↗↗↗
What defines the crag is its character: a near-vertical wall of basalt broken up by overhangs, set along an almost 600-metre ridge that runs as a southern continuation of the Kolsås massif's cliff-line. The rock is famously honest and a little loose — climbers describe it as the kind you either love or hate — but the steepness means the good lines stay dry after drizzle and the walls can be climbable even on mild winter days. With roughly ninety-plus bolted sport routes spread across several sectors, there is everything from warm-up 5s to hard 8a/9+ testpieces.↗↗
