Madan Mohan Temple
Madan Mohan Temple is a small, active Hindu shrine tucked into the Wangkhei neighbourhood of Imphal, the capital of Manipur. Dedicated to Madan Mohan—a beloved form of the god Krishna—it offers visitors a quiet, local window into the Vaishnava devotion that shapes much of the Imphal valley's religious life. Unlike the grand royal temples near the old Kangla fort, this is a neighbourhood temple first and foremost: a place where residents come for daily darshan rather than a monument built for crowds. What was recently renovated is now a calm, clean spot to experience Manipur's living Hindu traditions at an intimate, everyday scale.
