Playa Serena
Playa Serena is a long, easygoing beach on Roquetas de Mar's stretch of the Costa de Almería, where a palm-lined seaside promenade runs past a broad sweep of fine golden sand. At roughly 1,800 metres long and more than 80 metres wide, it never feels cramped, and its calm, shallow water makes it a favourite for unhurried swimming and sunbathing rather than big-wave action. Though it sits right beside Roquetas de Mar's main hotel district, Serena keeps a relaxed, local rhythm: a Blue Flag beach with lifeguards, showers, chiringuito bars and sunbed hire in summer, plus the warm, clear water the Almería coast is known for. It is the ideal base for a slow seaside day—swim, stroll the promenade, and eat well without ever leaving the sand in sight.
