fontána Masarykovo náměstí
A bold granite sculpture that breathes water in rhythmic pulses, the fountain on Masarykovo náměstí is Jindřichův Hradec's modern centerpiece—a work of public art that stirred passionate debate before becoming the town's most popular meeting point on the upper square. Carved from warm red Ruprechtice granite and designed by academic sculptor František Häckel, the fountain takes the form of two polished semicircles creating a stone plate with cascading bowls. A geyser of water erupts through a central fissure at timed intervals, fills the bowls, and overflows in a continuous, meditative cycle.
