Neelkanth Mahadev
Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is a small village shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, set in the open farmland of Bhesakh and Bhaisena Ka Pura in Deeg tehsil, Bharatpur district of eastern Rajasthan. Far from the grand monuments of the nearby heritage towns, it is a working neighbourhood temple where the local community comes to offer prayers to the blue-throated form of Shiva known as Neelkanth. Its appeal is devotional and rural rather than architectural: a quiet, simple place of worship in the heart of the old Braj countryside, most lively during the month of Shravan (Sawan) and on Mondays, when Shiva devotees gather for darshan in the surrounding villages of the Deeg belt.
