Tarihi Taşhan
Tarihi Taşhan is a remarkably well-preserved 13th-century Seljuk caravanserai in the small district of Çay, along the road between Afyonkarahisar and Konya. Built in 1278, its fortress-like square plan makes it the only known example of this layout in all of Anatolian Seljuk inn architecture — and a carved snow leopard above the entrance marks the signature of the master builder. After decades of neglect, the building was fully restored by Turkey's General Directorate of Foundations and completed in 2016. Today it serves as a charming family tea garden, giving visitors the rare chance to sit inside a genuine Seljuk monument while drinking çay.
