Seminole Island
Seminole Island is a small lake island in Stokes Township, Logan County, Ohio — one of the dozens of named islands that scatter across Indian Lake, the state's second-largest inland lake. Rather than a ticketed attraction, it is a quiet residential island community of lakehouses and vacation rentals, best experienced as a lakeside hideaway or from the deck of a boat. The island belongs to Indian Lake's 'Indian Isles' chain and sits close to the O'Connor Point area, with the resort villages of Russells Point and Lakeview just a short drive or paddle away. That setting is the real draw: a peaceful pocket of a 5,104-acre reservoir built for boating, fishing and summer time on the water. Stays on the island lean toward the classic lakehouse idiom — cabins and cottages with water access, firepits for evenings on the shore, and golf carts or boats to get around — while Indian Lake State Park supplies the public recreation: launch ramps, swimming beaches, kayak and pontoon rentals, hiking and biking trails, and a celebrated saugeye and crappie fishery.
