AT A GLANCE
Why go?
Sokak Ağzı Beach (Sokakağzı Plajı) is a long, low-key Aegean shoreline on the Koyunevi coast of Ayvacık, Çanakkale, just southwest of Assos. Named for the Sokak Stream that meets the sea at its edge, the beach pairs a broad sand-and-fine-gravel strip with shallow, clear water, an olive-grove backdrop, and a view straight across to the silhouette of Lesvos (Midilli) Island. It has the rare combination of being genuinely pretty, genuinely quiet, and genuinely family-friendly — a combination that draws a loyal repeat crowd each summer rather than a passing resort mass.↗↗↗↗
A short drive or summer dolmuş ride from Ayvacık, this is not a resort beach — it is a small coastal hamlet of family pensions, simple tent-roofed restaurants, wooden picnic tables and a few campgrounds tucked behind the dunes. For travellers using Assos as a base, Sokak Ağzı is the sandy, wading-friendly alternative to the stony coves around Behramkale, and one of the gentlest places on this stretch of the North Aegean to spend a slow day.↗
