You're right on Macrossan Street, so plenty of places are a short walk. Try Zinc Port Douglas for seafood and cocktails, or Hi Tide by the Beach for casual beachside dining. Epicurean Port Douglas is close for French-inspired dishes, and Wrasse & Roe is another nearby option. For a relaxed meal, Salsa Bar & Grill and Hemingway's Brewery FNQ are within a short stroll. The hotel also has barbecue facilities if you'd rather cook for yourself.
The hotel sits right by Four Mile Beach, a two-minute walk away, with the town centre and Macrossan Street shops and restaurants just steps from your door. Trinity Bay Lookout is a three-minute walk, and the marina, where reef cruises like Wavelength and ABC Reef Safaris depart, is four to five minutes on foot. The area is relaxed and beach-focused, with a convenience store and medical centre nearby for practical needs. Further afield, the Wildlife Habitat is 4.6 km away, and Mossman Gorge is a 14.1 km drive, so day trips need a car or tour. It is a quiet, convenient spot for beach days and easy evening strolls.
From Cairns Airport, drive north on the Captain Cook Highway for about an hour to Port Douglas, then turn right into Macrossan Street; the hotel is a few metres on the left by the sea. The hotel can arrange a bus transfer from the airport if you email your flight details, with the charge added to your room account. A scheduled coach also runs between Cairns and Port Douglas, taking roughly 90 minutes. The nearest train station is Kuranda Station, about 70 km away, so a car, taxi, or pre-booked transfer is the practical way from there. Marina Mirage Station and St Crispins Station are nearby local stops.
In the evening, you can walk to the 4 Mile Beach Lookout (2 min) or Trinity Bay Lookout (3 min) for a sunset view. For dinner, nearby options include Zinc Port Douglas, Hi Tide by the Beach, and Hemingway's Brewery FNQ, all within a short stroll. The marina, about 10 minutes away, is where evening reef cruise boats like Wavelength Reef Cruises (4 min) and ABC Reef Safaris (5 min) return, so you can watch the activity. Macrossan Street itself has many restaurants and bars to explore after dark.
By the Sea Port Douglas is a great base for exploring Port Douglas. You can walk to 4 Mile Beach Lookout in 2 minutes, Trinity Bay Lookout in 3, and Wavelength Reef Cruises in 4, with ABC Reef Safaris just 5 minutes away. The town centre and its shops and restaurants are also within easy walking distance. For further sights, Wildlife Habitat is 4.6 km away, and Mossman Gorge is 14.1 km, so you will want a car or a tour for those. The marina, about 10 minutes on foot, is where many reef trips depart. From here, you can easily join tours like the Quicksilver Great Barrier Reef Snorkel Cruise or a Daintree day trip.
