Response from the property
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm pleased to hear you enjoyed our fantastic location and found the room to be a great base for exploring Port Douglas. I'm sorry to hear the bed was not as comfortable as you had hoped. We understand that mattress firmness is very much a personal preference, but we appreciate you sharing your experience. While our rooms are equipped with standard TV services, we recognise that streaming capabilities have become an expectation for many travellers and will take your feedback into consideration for future upgrades. Thank you again for your balanced feedback. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even more enjoyable stay in the future.

You can eat right at the hotel, which has its own restaurant, cafe, and bar. Just downstairs is the Court House Hotel, Port Douglas' oldest pub, known for its gourmet pub meals and steaks at the Wharf St Bistro. Along Macrossan and Wharf Streets, you'll find many restaurants and cafes, including Lichi, Zinc Port Douglas, and Hi Tide Cafe Bar Restaurant. These spots offer everything from contemporary Australian dishes to fresh seafood and cocktails. The hotel also has an outdoor barbecue area if you prefer to cook your own meal.
You are right on the corner of Wharf and Macrossan Streets, with the Dickson Inlet across the road and the marina about 100 metres away. The town centre is a 20-metre stroll, and the main strip of Macrossan Street is lined with cafes, restaurants and boutique shops. The Court House Hotel, Port Douglas' oldest pub, sits directly below the hotel. Trinity Bay Lookout is an 8-minute walk, and 4 Mile Beach Lookout is 11 minutes away. For a longer outing, Wildlife Habitat is 5 km, and Mossman Gorge is 13.5 km, so a car or tour is handy for those.
From Cairns International Airport, regular shuttle buses run to Port Douglas and stop near the hotel on Macrossan Street, just behind the Court House Hotel. The hotel is about 60 km from the airport, roughly an hour's drive north on the Captain Cook Highway. If you prefer, you can arrange a pre-booked transfer or take a taxi or ride-hailing service. The nearest train station is about 75 km away, so a shuttle or car is the practical option from there. Once you reach Macrossan Street, you'll see the Court House Hotel at the end, with reception just behind it.
In the evening, you can head downstairs to the Court House Hotel, Port Douglas' oldest pub, for a meal and drinks. The hotel's own bar and restaurant are also right there. A short stroll along Macrossan Street takes you past many cafes and restaurants, including Lichi, Zinc Port Douglas, and Hi Tide Cafe Bar Restaurant. For a relaxed end to the day, the waterfront and pier near the Dickson Inlet are a pleasant walk, with Trinity Bay Lookout just an 8-minute walk away.
Mantra on The Inlet is a great base for exploring Port Douglas on foot. You can walk to ABC Reef Safaris in 4 minutes, Wavelength Reef Cruises in 5, Trinity Bay Lookout in 8, and 4 Mile Beach Lookout in 11. The marina and Dickson Inlet are right opposite, with day trips to the Great Barrier Reef departing nearby. For further sights like Wildlife Habitat (5.0 km) or Mossman Gorge (13.5 km), you will need a car or a tour, but the town centre and waterfront are right at your doorstep. The hotel's own bar, cafe, and restaurant, plus the Court House Hotel downstairs, make it easy to start or end your day here.
