We recently stayed at the Sofitel Queenstown and had a wonderful experience overall. Our room was lovely and spacious, comfortably accommodating my wife, our one-year-old son, and myself. The bathroom was particularly impressive, with plenty of space and a luxurious feel. What really stood out was the staff. They were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. They went out of their way to interact with our one-year-old, who was determined to point at and share everything with everyone he met. Those small interactions made us feel genuinely welcome as a family. The buffet breakfast was another highlight. There was a good menu available, complemented by a solid selection of buffet options that catered well to different tastes and provided a great start to each day. The only area that let the hotel down was the gym. While it had a suitable rack of dumbbells, the adjustable bench felt quite unsafe and in need of replacement, and the cable machine was out of order during our stay. With a little more attention and some equipment upgrades, the gym could be a fantastic facility and better match the otherwise high standard of the hotel. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend Sofitel Queenstown, particularly for families looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to stay in a fantastic location.

Beautiful welcome drink and cake plate in room to celebrate a milestone birthday! Thank you. We had a few hiccups with our stay of 6 nights however the staff took action to rectify these which was much appreciated. They welcomed our feedback which was refreshing. The location is great, if you have a car I’d recommend paying for parking as it’s very limited in Queenstown. The rooms are large and well appointed, some views are a lot better than others. Over the road from ski bus - so super convenient if you’re off to the snow. 2 mins to restaurants, shopping, gondola etc. Minor point - for a 5 star Hotel the entry and foyer could do with a decorative refresh IMO, not particularly lux compared to new hotels in Qtown that we looked at. Thanks for your hospitality 🩵, we would return.

Thank you to the team at Sofitel Queenstown for an incredible stay! We have stayed at many Sofitel hotels around the world, and this is easily one of the best. From the moment we checked in, every staff member was so welcoming—even our kids mentioned how nice everyone was. The food and drinks during the evening canapés hour were a massive highlight, as was the fantastic breakfast and bar service. We wish we have chances to try the Le petite dinner. The So Spa was another must add on if you stay here. We can't recommend this property enough!

I did a lot of research into hotels for our family stay in Queenstown and am so glad I chose Sofitel. It had the best location minutes from the shops, restaurants and gondola/luge. We didn't use our car once. The rooms were large and very comfortable. We couldn't hear neighbors at all nor the street noise unless I cracked the window open for fresh air. (there was AC and heat, I just wanted some fresh air). Breakfast had a nice mix of yogurts/pastries/cereals and you ordered egg dishes. The hotel had a mix of families, couples etc. |The decor is a little over the top/Liberace style (grand piano/chandeliers/gold chairs) but if you ignore that, it is a great hotel for your stay in Queenstown.

We had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Queenstown. The hotel is directly opposite the ski shuttle bus stop, which made it incredibly convenient for my son, who went skiing every day during our stay. The location is perfect, right on the main street of Queenstown, so it was easy to walk to restaurants, cafés, and shops. The valet parking service was also excellent and made everything even more convenient. The staff were friendly and professional, and we really enjoyed our stay. I have already recommended this hotel to all of my friends and would happily stay here again.

We’ve stayed at numerous Sofitel hotels globally. Queenstown is the smallest we’ve stayed at, but was centrally located, across the road from the main shopping and restaurant strip. Most of the staff were helpful. We warn you to be wary of ‘Semran’ I believe that’s how her name was spelt. We asked her to help us with calling a restaurant to book in Arrowtown as their internet booking was down and our phone wasn’t roaming calls internationally. Semran advised she would email us ‘either way’ to let us know if she was able to book or not. She did not email us either way. Thankfully the restaurant squeezed us in - the last table to get a walk in as they became fully booked. When we saw her the next day and I said that she didn’t email us, she laughed and said she forgot. It was only when I wasn’t amused that she apologized. Isn’t that part of the role of the front desk? To look after guests and do what you say you will? There was no manager on duty so we couldn’t pass on the feedback, so leaving it here. Perhaps she would be better suited elsewhere, not interacting with guests. The room was ok, we are gold members and usually are upgraded, but not on this occasion. We recommend eating at the steakhouse, food and service good, as were the steak cheese pies at Ferg baker.

We booked a luxury room with juliet balcony. The initial room we were given was slightly disappointing. Though they accommodated our request for 2 separate beds, there was no juliet balcony and only a small window that looked out onto the front of the hotel with the remarkables mountains seen in the distance. Matt who checked us in was extremely professional and accommodating. He brought us to see another room which had a step out balcony and king bed, but we decided to go back to our initial room. Throughout our stay the highlight was really the staff. From the front desk (Rose), to the restaurant and lounge staff-all of them were extremely professional and made you feel right at home. Hotel breakfast was also really good! The location is just right in the centre of it all in Queenstown. Extremely convenient. Special mention goes to Herman who was stationed at concierge, he was extremely friendly, professional and polite. He helped us with our room TV, gave us directions and helped with our bags. He really provided exceptional service. The staff made our stay at the Sofitel Queenstown an amazing one!
