Stunning Tuscan resort with luxurious rooms, excellent service & stunning grounds. They were kind enough to surprise us with a lovely bottle of Prosecco for our anniversary. They were also kind & understanding when we asked the room to be changed since I had difficulty with mobility. If your a movie buff, “letters to Juliet” was filmed there.

A Hotel Where We Didn’t Feel Welcome Borgo Scopeto was our second-to-last stop during our 12-day trip through Italy. We stayed for two nights, and although the hotel advertises itself as being family- and dog-friendly, that was not our experience. It is a fairly large hotel that lacks the warm, welcoming, family atmosphere we experienced at most other Italian properties. From the moment we arrived, we were given a list of places where our dog was not allowed. In reality, he was only permitted in one small area near the reception. We were also reminded that he had to stay on a leash. For context, our dog weighs just 2 kg, has never needed a leash before, and is actually afraid of people. If you are travelling with children, be aware that you cannot use the main swimming pool because it is adults only. Families are directed down a steep hill to a separate, almost deserted pool. There is no bar there, no Wi-Fi, and no mobile signal. If you want to order food or drinks, you have to walk all the way back up the hill to the main pool and then return again. There is no waiter checking on guests or clearing away empty glasses, which were left sitting there for hours. At breakfast, nobody asked us if we would like to order coffee, even after 15 minutes. Several waiters walked past our table without acknowledging us. We eventually had to ask ourselves, which is simply not what you expect from a hotel of this category. The service throughout our stay was disappointing. They even handed a menu to our young child, who cannot read yet. We were also not allowed to choose where to sit, despite being the only guests in the restaurant at the time. The bathroom was missing even the basic practical details. There was no shelf for personal toiletries and nowhere convenient to place our belongings. There were only two towel hooks for three guests. At check-out, nobody asked whether we had enjoyed our stay or if everything had been satisfactory. Good manners and genuine hospitality make all the difference. When you pay premium prices, you naturally expect a level of service to match, and unfortunately we did not receive it. Because of our overall experience, we deliberately chose not to have dinner at Borgo Scopeto even once. We simply did not feel welcome, we wanted to spend time with our dog instead of leaving him alone in the room, and the quality of the service gave us no reason to stay. The Borgo itself is beautiful, although the road leading to the property is not. Overall, we believe this hotel is best suited to retirees and couples travelling without children or pets.

This hotel is the definition of La Dolce Vita! Starting from the beginning, when first arrived to the hotel, they picked up our bags, showed us around the property and responded any questions that we had. Elisa was amazing! She showed us around the property, he gave us recommendations of where to go in Siena, and was super friendly and welcoming! The hotel has excellent amenities and everything that you need. The pool is wonderful, and the pool bar is amazing. Excellent service. Their breakfast area is beautiful, and they provide a very diverse breakfast. It was really good! In addition, their restaurant La Tinaia is phenomenal and Michelin star. They have a great wine selection and excellent food. They also have valet parking service, which is very convenient. All of the staff were very welcoming and nice! Thank you to the pool Bar bartender whose name I cannot recall, and also thanks to Elisa, Virginia, Davide, Asiz, Stefano, and everyone else! You all made our stay wonderful! The rooms were excellent and very comfortable. Shower was great too. My only comment would be that the A/C was not performing to my expectation for a 5 star hotel. However, I understand that there was a Heat Wave in Europe, and that it is out of their hands. Giancarlo helped us to lower the temp of the A/C, but it still did not work. They provided a fan though, and that helped a lot! Thank you! The location is excellent! You’re about an hour away from The Mall at Firenze, close to wineries, about a 20 min ride to Siena, and about 1-1.5 hour ride to Montalcino. Again, this hotel is wonderful. It is so peaceful, quiet, and lovely. The views from there are amazing too. I loved it!

Wonderful. Absolutely beautiful location made only more terrific by the impressive service and attentive staff. Employees always make any stay more wonderful and the staff at Borgo Scopeto did all they could do to make it a once in a lifetime experience. |Breakfast and dinner overlooking Siena off in the distance, terrific wine and great service at breakfast and dinner. They made our honeymoon extra special.|Thank you Elisa at the concierge desk who took time to look up on the computer places to see and then e-mailed an itinerary. Then followed up to see our our day was. . . .|Rooms have breathtaking views of the Tuscan hills, fields of lavender and olive trees.

Absolutely superb hotel and grounds in the most beautiful part of the world.|The reception and other communal areas were beautifully designed and immaculately clean. We ate at the pool bar and restaurant. Both were wonderful and the knowledge of the staff was sublime. I would recommend going here as it is an utterly unique and surreal experience. However I have had to deduct a star due to two reasons. Firstly the air conditioning is inadequate for such a luxury hotel. Our room was at 24 degrees and could not apparently be cooled further. Other rooms were lower at 22 degrees. Whilst I feel for them in an old building in 2026 I still believe it’s pretty poor. Secondly most of the staff were friendly and attentive. However the 2 young male members of staff there on the day we arrived and following did not smile once and did not really seem interested. Again poor for a luxury hotel. Still a very good hotel in the main

Our stay at Borgo Scopeto was magical. The room was spacious and well equipped with more than everything needed. The grounds were beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. And every member of the staff went above and beyond. I can’t wait to return to Borgo Scopeto again in the future!

An idyllic Tuscan experience. We loved wandering the property and discovering the fruit and vegetable gardens, relaxing by the pool, enjoying evening cocktails at the bar, and taking in the incredible views. The room was lovely and comfortable, and the location made a great home base for exploring different parts of Tuscany throughout the day. Such a peaceful and memorable stay.

What do you say about a place that feels like you’re in a movie the moment you drive down the entrance pathway? After my last visit 15 years ago, I finally had the chance to bring my family back, including my little one, to experience this incredible place. The property, the staff, the food, the views, and the location are all simply immaculate. After making the winding drive through the Tuscan hills outside Siena, you arrive and instantly understand why this place is so special. It genuinely feels like you’ve stepped into another world. This was the final stop on our Italy trip, and without question, it was the highlight of the entire vacation. The staff doesn’t just provide great service—they make you feel like you’ve come home. A special thank you to Mustapha, who is an absolute legend. From the moment we arrived he made sure our stay was perfect. People like him are the reason guests come back year after year. What impressed me most wasn’t just the beauty of the property, but the feeling it gives you. In today’s world, it’s rare to find a place that slows life down enough for you to truly enjoy the people you’re with. Watching my daughter run through the gardens, sharing long dinners overlooking the Tuscan countryside, and waking up to some of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen are memories my family will have forever. If you’re looking for flashy luxury, there are plenty of places in the world that can offer that. But if you’re looking for authentic Tuscan charm, genuine hospitality, incredible food and wine, peaceful surroundings, and a place that leaves you wishing you had booked a few more nights, I honestly can’t recommend Borgo Scopeto enough. Thank you to everyone at Borgo Scopeto for giving my family memories we’ll never forget. I waited 15 years to come back, and I can promise it won’t be another 15 before we’re here again. Five stars isn’t enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
