Stayed at Hotel Around Takayama and overall had a very comfortable stay. It is about a six minute walk from the station, making it very convenient and close to the centre of town. The hotel itself feels very new and well maintained. Facilities were good, including the onsen style hot spa with separate areas for men and women, which was clean and easy to access. The rooms were well presented, the beds were firm and extremely comfortable for a great night’s sleep, and the shower pressure was fantastic. Amenities in the room were also very good and hard to fault. The only slight disappointment was the coffee. It could have been better quality and was not replenished when we requested more, which felt a little inconsistent with the otherwise premium feel of the hotel. What stood out most was the friendliness of the front desk staff. Every time we needed assistance or had a question, they were approachable, helpful and accommodating. Overall, a very comfortable stay in a convenient location and I would happily stay again.

The hotel is a 5-minute walk from JR Takayama Station and Nohi Bus Terminal, offering convenient access to nearby attractions/locations like Takayama, Toyama & Shirakawago. The hotel is also 10min away from local attractions like Miyagawa Morning Market. The hotel provides excellent amenities and top-notched service. I wanted to highlight exceptional service of the hotel staffs. On the night (16 Apr 2026) before going to Toyama, I realized on Google maps that the JR local train to Toyama was cancelled due to some repair work. The bus service that Google maps recommended required reservation of seats and they were all reserved. I quickly approached the hotel staffs for help. They spent lot of time to check online and further confirmed with other local staffs. It seemed that only a section of the JR local train route was unavailable and there was a bridging bus service for that section. They even printed the map of location of the bridging bus pick-up points. They also advised me that using local buses at Nohi Bus Terminal (no reservation needed) were also feasible. With this, I confirmed with the staff at Takayama station the next day that bridging bus service was available for that section of the JR local train route. I would like to highly recommend the staffs who went out of their way to help me that night(apologies, didn’t get the names of the staffs in my hurry). Their attention to detail and willingness to help exemplifies the high standard of good service I have come to admire in Japan.

Basically a very average hotel with limited frills. The room was small, which is common for Japanese hotels. Breakfast was the sparsest of any hotels that we stayed in and the restaurant/lounge had limited hours. Other than that there was virtually no common area. Only positive would be that the location was near numerous restaurants.

This has been our favourite hotel so far. Super location, really friendly staff and the bed was huge which is unusual in Japan! The rooms in general are lovely and really powerful showers. Our only 'complaint' is we didn't like the breakfast but I think this is a common theme in Japan. The 'Western style' breakfasts just aren't what we would usually eat. Really great hotel though - thanks for a great stay!

The hotel has a fantastic atmosphere and an excellent location right in the heart of the city, just next to Tateyama Station. The staff communicate very well, the rooms are spacious and clean, and there are many great restaurants nearby. It’s also close to Starbucks. If you’re visiting Tateyama and looking for a good hotel, I highly recommend this place.

We stayed with my husband and 3 girls for 2 nights. The room was large for Japan standards. Very conveniently placed near the train station and the city center. On the negative side the breakfast is inedible. We tried the Japanese and American breakfast and they were both really not tasty. Now this comment comes from someone who can eat pretty much anything…. The rooms also have a lot of light in the morning even with the curtains closed.

We stayed for three nights. Due to an issue with the online booking system on Agoda, our reservation for an executive room was unfortunately not successfully processed, and the hotel only received a booking for the smallest standard room. However, the hotel staff were very helpful and proactive in resolving the situation. They managed to arrange a larger twin room for us, which provided much more space. Although we needed to change rooms once during our stay, the room size was comfortable and sufficient for both my husband and me. We truly appreciate the hotel’s effort and thoughtful arrangement. Their assistance made our mountain trip a very pleasant and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Booking this hotel mainly because of the location, just a 4 to 5 mins walk from the station. Rooms are clean, modern, and surprisingly cozy Staff were friendly and speak good english. Nice, calm vibe throughout the hotel. Overall good value for the quality You can also book a private onsen for 45 mins for 2000 yen at the front desk. It is recommended to book as soon as you check in, as popular evening slots fill up quickly.
