Tripadvisor· a month agoWonderful location in Toledo from which to explore the city. Asun was extremely helpful during our stay. Her house is beautifully finished and is right in the heart of the city, with the main attraction The Cathedral right on her doorstep ! Wonderful large bedroom, was very quiet even though in the city centre.

Tripadvisor· 4 months agoThe stay here was wonderful. Air conditioning was efficient. The breakfast was delicious and complete with fruits, eggs, pastries, cut choice meats and cheese. Room was spacious and clean. Location was perfect for anyone who loves walking to historical views and cultural culinary exposures. Situated right in front of the Catedral and Museum is another added bonus.

Tripadvisor· 7 months agoFound this place on TripAdvisor and booked through booking.com. Not my first choice type of accommodation since it is more like a small guest house / B&B. The location was central and the price with breakfast good compared to other choices in Toledo. There was plenty of good communication ahead of the stay especially regarding the easily confused address. With that help our taxi driver found the place. This is a former riad. It is huge and decorated like a museum. It is very quirky and a bit dark. A delightful woman checked us in and also served breakfast in the morning. We used Google translation for both checking in and other logistics questions since neither of us were capable in the other's language. She was super helpful in helping us stow our bags after we checked out and made sure her assistant called us a taxi to the train station. The service was top notch. The room itself was nice and packed with memorabilia. The bathroom was large and modern. All the windows were well soundproofed. The downsize was the small double bed was showing wear and sagged to the middle. Also the radiator was locked into a certain temperature that was too warm and there was no controller for the wall ac unit. Fortunately we just opened the windows. Also the lock on the room door was a challenge to operate. And the wifi didn't work. If we were staying more than one night I would have pressed to get this resolved. Finally the breakfast was very nice. If you like B&Bs you will like this unique accommodation.

Google· a year agoHere's where the old saying "Not everything that shines is gold" we fell in love by the picture of this place, unfortunately the owner waited to send us an email less than an hour while we were still on the train to the hotel. When we arrived her assistant gave us the wonderful news that the toilet in our room was not working and gave us 2 buckets in order for us to be able to flush the toilet. We could not believe this. Every time we needed to use the toilet we had to fill the 2 buckets of water that had to be filled on the bathtub (believed or not) her compensation to this horrible condition was that she would give us a small portion of our charges to which she did not want to do it through our credit card. Unfortunately the town of Toledo was full packed with tourists and no other hotel had rooms available. Leaving us with no choice whatsoever, due to this wonderful experience both of our backs are very soared, we had to keep the bathroom door closed because of the smell getting into the bedroom. Then when we try to get our credit, she was nowhere to be found, we tried contacting her by every mean possible including with her assistant which no reply by the owner, today we checked out and still no word from the wonderful lady. If your planning to stay please reconsider. This has been our worst experience ever! You have been warned!

Tripadvisor· a year agoThank you for being so kind and helpful! |We arrived in Madrid just as the biggest ever electricity outage happened. Everything was out of action that day, no trains, card payments, etc etc. Instead of a short train trip to Toledo we ended up hiring a car, arriving as it was going dark. We found it so difficult to navigate old Toledo's very narrow streets that we abandoned the car and found a taxi to take us to Casa Palacio Rincon de la Catedral. We were very late and stressed but the owner had someone waiting outside (in the dark) for us and she welcomed us warmly. Candles, bottled water and a watering can for the shower were the order of the day because without electricity the water was also off / very low pressure. The owner gave us rolls, cheese, meat, fruit and yogurt which was much needed and appreciated. The next day the power was back and we had a really nice couple of days exploring Toledo.|Thank you for being so thoughtful and generous!|Geoff & Eunice

Google· a year agoThis place is amazing and highly recommended. Its construction was started during Islamic rule in the 9th century. WOW - It is like living back in time and the location - next to one of the most incredible Gothic Cathedrals in Europe. This makes it a once in a lifetime experience. While the rooms are intimate in size, they provide modern comfort without compromising the property's authentic medieval character. The views are simply breathtaking – from your window, you'll gaze directly at Toledo Cathedral, widely regarded as Spain's supreme achievement in Gothic architecture. Nice rooms, great breakfast, parking (for a fee), and the ultimate location. In 2009, it received the “Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo” award, given by the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Historical Sciences of Toledo, for its careful restoration.

Tripadvisor· 11 months agoThe toilet did not work! Owner offered two buckets of water to flush the toilet and a 50% refund on the room. That refund has never been given even with booking.com direct involved on our behalf. I have personally contacted the owner and she has never responded. In addition, she promised a parking space but when we arrived there was no space. Avoid this overpriced and underperforming location like the plague!

Tripadvisor· a year agoThis is a 1,200 year old house built when Toledo was under Muslim rule, and is right next to the incomparable Toledo Cathedral. The Cathedral was originally built as a mosque during the Muslim rule of Toledo (which lasted from 711 to 1085). It is an amazing setting and I can't imagine anything better. We have spent a lot of time in Spain and this is the most magical place we have stayed. The ground floor is occupied by a courtyard of Islamic origin as seen in the half horseshoe arch. The rooms are small but comfortable, and you really feel like you are staying in a time warp, as you find yourself looking out the window to see the Cathedral of Toledo - itself considered to be the magnum opus of the Gothic style in Spain. FYI - The current Gothic cathedral building was begun in 1226 during the reign of Ferdinand III. There are lots of great places to eat and shop in a walk from here. You are at the center of the old town and everything you want to see is close by. Also, parking is available for a couple of cars for a fee, a rare amenity in the old town that we found incredibly convenient. So if there is an opening for you, take it and enjoy a magical time in Toledo. Thank you Asana!
