The Wyndham Glacier hotel is in a beautiful setting and was a wonderful place to relax and regroup between the demands of “real life” and boarding a cruise ship for the sheer magnificence and other-worldliness of Antarctica. All the staff- at the front desk, at the dining room, the cozy bar fire-pit nook and room cleaners -were helpful and friendly, led by manager Rosanna who made guests feel special with her graciousness, attention to detail, and care. Call outs also to Carmen at the front desk, Ximenia, Antonio, Luis (and apologies to those whose smiles and kindness I remember but, names I don’t recall.) The Glacier offered good internet, good food, a sauna and photo-worthy views. Perched on the hill, the hotel offers sweeping views of the sky and weather, beautiful vistas of the town Ushuaia below and the docks where you can see the ships come in and out, and preview the famous Beagle Channel – all this while enjoying the comfortable amenities. The dining room with free breakfast buffet faces both the harbor and town as well as the other side of the hotel’s geography- the glacier and mountain peaks. I loved sleeping with the windows open to great fresh air, with very comfy warm bedding, then waking up to hear bird songs. I found that Ushuaia, the town “at the end of the world,” is itself a unique place worth staying at least an extra day and night for on either end of a cruise or as a place to explore for itself. I really enjoyed the local culture and walking around the town. I was there during their multi-day Mardi Gras celebrations in Februrary and it was fun to mingle with all the families out to enjoy the dancers in parade with colorful costumes and choreography. There are also fun Beagle Channel tours for whale and penguin watching. And lovely shops, little museums, and memorable restaurants. There also seem to be endless incredible hikes in the nearby national parks. The Wyndham Garden Del Glacier was a welcoming base to come back to.

We stayed at the Wyndham for two nights, and overall it was a pleasant experience, although the hotel clearly shows its age. The property is a bit “in its own juice,” with a style that feels dated and could really benefit from some renovation or modern touches. That being said, it remains comfortable and functional for a short stay. The breakfast was the main area that could be improved. The selection was quite limited and didn’t fully match what you would expect from a hotel in this category. A bit more variety and fresher options would make a big difference. On the positive side, the staff were absolutely wonderful. Everyone we interacted with was warm and polite. Their kindness really elevated our stay and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Another highlight was the hotel’s restaurant, which was excellent. The food was surprisingly good, fresh, well-prepared, and far above what you usually find in many hotel restaurants. We ended up enjoying our meals there more than expected. Overall, while the hotel could use some updates, the friendly service and great restaurant make it a solid choice for a short stay. With a few improvements, it could easily become a top pick in the area.

We arrivd at 8am and wasallocated a room, despite the stated check-in time of 3pm. Albeit I was given two bedroom instead of one bed room, I did not ask for change as my friend'sroom wasnear mine 144 and 148. Check-out time was 11am in stead of noon asstated in my voucher.

Went with a friend to Ushuaia for adventure autummn excursions, and stayed at the hotel with prize points, and was superb. Have to remark the Hotel is very beautiful with a wonderful view of the Beagle Channel and Ushuaia, the staff is very attentive, and the rooms are very good with beautiful common areas. Breakfast is also pretty good with a beautiful view. It did exceed our expectations!!!

The room was very warm and even with the heat turned off it was too warm without the window open. The hot water in the bathroom was leaking continuously and when they "fixed" it twice, as soon as we used the hot water it would leak again. I guess they would rather waste all that hot water than spend the money on a replacement valve. It's it a good location and a nice view.

Friendly staff, great views from lobby, gathering room and restaurant and bar, good value. A little out of the way, but the views negate this. Booking came with breakfast. Food in bar very good; breakfast options average (more continental). My favorite hotel experience was being introduced to the submarine - Argentinian hot chocolate. Room specious and clean and nice Mountain View.

Really nice rooms with lovely staff. Amenities are a bit limited. No spa but massages can be organized. The sauna is really nice and hot.

The service and breakfast were very good. The beds pillows and shower were great. Have to take Ubers to get all the way up the hill where the hotel is but they’re cheap. Since it’s Wyndham we used points so it was a good deal!
