Our stay at Canoe Hotel & Suites in Banff was absolutely unforgettable! From the second we walked through the doors, the staff made us feel right at home with their warm, attentive, and genuinely kind hospitality. The highlight of our room was the gorgeous private balcony. Waking up each morning with a hot cup of coffee and taking in the breathtaking, uninterrupted mountain views set the perfect tone for the entire trip. After full days out exploring the trails, unwinding in the relaxing hotel sauna was pure bliss! It quickly became our favorite evening ritual to soothe tired muscles. Dining on-site was another standout experience. The restaurant’s brunch was incredible, serving up delicious, hearty dishes that gave us the perfect fuel before heading outdoors. Getting around could not have been easier. The hotel’s proximity to the Roam Transit Route 1 bus stop is an absolute game-changer. It made catching a ride straight into downtown Banff for dinner or heading out into the national park completely stress-free; no need to worry about parking or navigating busy roads. Canoe Hotel checks every single box for comfort, scenery, and unbeatable convenience. We cannot wait to return!

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at Hotel Canoe & Suites, but there were a few areas that could be improved. One of my favorite features was the outdoor hot pools. They were a great way to relax after a long day of hiking. The room itself was clean and comfortable overall, although I did notice some dust on the lid of the ice bucket. There were also a few housekeeping inconsistencies. When we checked in, we filled out the form requesting tea and coffee to be replenished, but it wasn’t collected the next day. It wasn’t until the third day that it was picked up and our request was fulfilled. Breakfast was another mixed experience. We stayed for three mornings—two breakfasts were excellent, while one was noticeably below the standard of the others. The quality didn’t feel very consistent. My biggest complaint is the parking arrangement. We booked three rooms but only had one vehicle. Although three parking spaces were assigned to our reservation, they weren’t individually designated. Anyone staying nearby could park in any of those spaces. Since each set of three spaces is bordered by walls on both sides, it became very difficult to maneuver our full-size SUV when another guest parked in the middle space. Even though we had only one vehicle, we still encountered unnecessary inconvenience. I think reserved parking should be managed much more clearly. The other disappointment was the room layout. Unless you’re staying in the front row facing the road or the back row facing the mountain, you’re likely to be directly facing another guest room. Because the windows are completely clear, you can easily see into each other’s rooms. That means you’ll probably end up keeping the curtains closed for privacy, which defeats the purpose of advertising the views. I think this aspect could be designed much better. Despite these issues, the staff were friendly, the location was convenient, and the outdoor hot pools were definitely the highlight of our stay.

Gorgeous hotel! We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely return. The room was beautiful with comfortable beds and a powerful shower. The daily tea/coffee selection is a nice touch. Plenty of parking and we made great use of the fantastic pool facilities which were never too busy. The included bus passes were useful, or a short 20 minute walk into town. Sudden Sally is a real hidden gem for both breakfast and a happy hour.

This hotel is located about a 20 minute walk from downtown Banff, but it works perfectly if you enjoy a quiet & comfortable stay. I enjoyed my stay here from start to finish. The staff was very friendly. Any accommodation that I requested was met & taken care of very quickly. I enjoyed the sauna, hot tub, view and the restaurant and café that’s down in the lobby. The food and the coffee is reasonably priced and always tasted delicious. I ate at Sudden Sally for both breakfast and dinner and both meals were absolutely delicious. You can tell the food here is a high-quality. As mentioned before, the staff was very courteous and kind & if I were to come back and visit Banff I would book the this hotel again.

All was great! Amazing experience! The food was delicious, and the happy hour with 50% off is fantastic — perfect for enjoying tasty starters and cocktails. The coffee is honestly the best in town! I would like to sincerely thank the team for their amazing help and support in finding my belongings. I truly appreciate the time and effort you took to assist me — it meant a lot and made the situation much easier for me. Special thanks to the front desk staff member who was on duty that day (night). I’m very sorry I forgot his name, but I am extremely grateful for his quick response and professionalism. His willingness to help made a big difference. Thank you again for the excellent service — highly recommended!

Just stayed here for a couples trips to Banff. The view from our room was amazing. Loved the fire pit and hot pools. The main halls and elevator could use more cleaning. Housekeeping came daily. Floor plan of hotel and elevators is a bit confusing, but you get the hang of it after a day or two. Plentiful close parking. Elk wandered on surrounding hillside. Easy walk or Roam bus into downtown, as the hotel is right on the edge of the city. Sudden Sally onsite restaurant is great with huge portions. The pools close a bit early, but you can access those at the sister property Hotel Otter next door for a longer evening soak.

This was a very nice resort hotel in Banff with beautiful views and a great overall atmosphere. My only complaint was the in-room coffee service. I wish there had been a more convenient and user-friendly way to make coffee in the room. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay and I would happily return.
