The Rundlestone Lodge has its own restaurant, so you can start there. For other options, The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Banff Caribou is close by and well regarded. The Prow, a bar and contemporary spot, is also nearby. You can walk to Banff Visitor Centre in 14 minutes, and the town center has many more choices like Brazen, The Grizzly House, and Anejo Restaurant. The Evergreen Restaurant and Lounge, inside the Royal Canadian Lodge, serves Canadian cuisine with local ingredients. These are all within a short walk or a quick ride on the local ROAM transit.
The Rundlestone Lodge sits right on Banff Avenue, the town's main street, so you're in the heart of the action. The Banff Visitor Centre is a 14-minute walk away, and the Banff Park Museum National Historic Site is 19 minutes on foot. Central Park and the Cascade of Time Garden are both within a 20- to 22-minute stroll, perfect for a relaxed wander. For a bit more of a walk, Surprise Corner Viewpoint is 24 minutes away, offering great views. The area is walkable and well-connected, with the town's shops and sights close at hand. You can easily explore the town on foot, and the hotel's own restaurant is right there for a meal.
Fly into Calgary International Airport (YYC), then take the Trans-Canada Highway west to Banff, about an hour and a half drive. If you don't have a car, airport shuttles like the Banff Airporter, Brewster Express, or Mountain Park Transportation run frequent direct service to town. From the Banff Train Station, it's a short ride or walk to the lodge on Banff Ave. Once in Banff, the lodge is about 5 minutes from the first Banff exit, on your right before Badger St. The hotel also offers free ROAM Transit passes for getting around town after you arrive.
In the evening, you can walk to Central Park (20 min) or the Cascade of Time Garden (22 min) for a relaxed stroll. The hotel’s own restaurant is a convenient option for dinner. Nearby, The Prow and The Keg Steakhouse + Bar are within a short walk, and Brazen is a popular spot for drinks. For a memorable night, consider the Banff Stargazing Tour, a 2-hour walking tour. The Banff Gondola and Bow Falls are also reachable by a short drive or transit ride.
Yes, The Rundlestone Lodge is a great base for exploring Banff on foot. The Banff Visitor Centre is a 14-minute walk, and the Banff Park Museum National Historic Site is 19 minutes away.
