We had an excellent stay at Otter Hotel. The hotel is modern, clean, and beautifully designed. The rooftop hot tubs with mountain views were a highlight of our trip. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the complimentary Banff transit passes made it easy to get around town. The rooms were comfortable and well maintained. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Banff.

Just checked out today. staff very friendly and helpful. Free bus passes were the best amenity. Hotel is 1 mile from town center so big use of the bus. Room had lots of drawer space, small refrig and safe. Coffee provided for pour over was nice. Large room with balcony overlooking the woods was quiet. we did not eat there but utilized the sister hotel,Hotel Canoe, right next door. Design flaw would be lighting over the beds. Should be separate ones instead of 1 linear light. Housekeeping was OK. Had to ask twice for vacuuming . A little icky. Hot pools were great. Pricey stay but we really enjoyed it. If you choose mountain view, be sure toy area not looking out over the pools. Unless you want to.

We stayed here 4 nights. Check in and check out was a breeze. The underground parking garage was great. Our room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. We mostly enjoyed the hot pools every night and watched the sun set over the mountains. We went to the sauna one night as well and it was great! Since the hotel is right on the edge of downtown it was quiet and not a lot of traffic going by, so relaxing on the patio area by the fires was a very nice way to end each evening. We kept filling up our water bottles from the sink in our room and the water fountain near the hot pools and the water was soooo cold and tasted great. It was a little pricey but considering it was peak season tourist season that was to be expected. We enjoyed our stay very much!

What a beautiful property! We will stay here again! Location is on Banff Ave away from all the tourists BUT with the free transit pass we were in and out of the main area in minutes. The walk was about 20-25mim depending on your pace but it’s flat and doable with kids and active elderly parents. The 2 outdoor hot tubs were great even in the summer! Wish one could be a cold plunge, ha! We spent time just sitting outdoors enjoying the view of the surrounding mountains! The staff were all super friendly and helpful! The in room Sumatra pour over coffee was delicious. The selection of Jolene’s tea was amazing. We also enjoyed a night cap at the restaurant in the evenings which was perfect! Room was clean, pillows were firm but fluffy. Beds and bedding luxurious as was the Rocky Mountain Soap Co. toiletries! Each room has a small baloney to enjoy the fresh outdoor air and mountain views! We were spoiled here at Otter Hotel. Thank you!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Otter Hotel was absolutely fantastic and made our trip to Banff even better. From the moment we arrived, Emma at the front desk exceeded every expectation. She was incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and took the time to recommend great restaurants, things to do, and tips for making the most of our stay. Customer service like hers makes all the difference. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. One piece of advice for anyone visiting Banff: book a shuttle or bus tour to see the park. It is by far the best way to experience it. Trying to drive, find parking, and deal with traffic can turn into a long, exhausting day. The shuttle drops you off right at the major attractions and trailheads, including Moraine Lake, so you can simply enjoy the incredible scenery without the stress. Overall, this was a 10 out of 10 experience. We absolutely loved our stay at the Otter Hotel and would not hesitate to book here again on our next trip to Banff.

Overall, the hotel is really cute! The rooms felt clean, the location in Banff is great, parking was easy, and we absolutely loved the rooftop hot pools. The restaurant is worth visiting for the drinks alone—they were fantastic. The food, however, was pretty average and didn't quite live up to the cocktails. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite match the rest of the experience. The bartender spent time telling me how attractive my boyfriend was, which... was definitely an interesting choice. I already know he's handsome, but hearing it from the bartender while I'm standing there wasn't exactly the hospitality I was expecting. On top of that, we accidentally left behind a toiletry bag and a bracelet. We called almost immediately, but somehow they had already "disappeared." I'm honestly not sure who's out there collecting half-used lotion and a well-loved bracelet, but I hope they enjoy them more than I did. Overall, it's a charming hotel with a great location and beautiful rooftop pools. With a little improvement in customer service and the restaurant menu, it would be an easy five stars.

A very clean and spacious hotel. The outdoor hot tubs were very nice, with an incredible view of the mountains. Robes were provided but are quite tiny. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Our A/C worked well. A decent spot on the strip but we still had to take the complimentary bus "downtown". We also got complimentary coffee that we had to steep/brew ourselves and unfortunately was not good.

We just stayed at The Otter, in a Mountain View King Suite, 5 nights in mid-July. In the plus column, we really LOVED the design of the hotel- it’s warm and chic. The pictures online don’t really do it justice. The location and parking garage were excellent along with the complimentary bus passes. I found the bed to be very comfortable and the room amenities good. Overall the staff were warm and friendly. However there were a few at the front desk that were not. IMO the front desk should always have warm and welcoming staff so this was disappointing. I found myself avoiding going to the front desk unless absolutely necessary. Along with those few front desk staff, in the minus column, there wasn’t enough clothing storage in the room. The air conditioning unit in the room was directly next to one side of the bed which was noisy and uncomfortable. Lastly, the elevator was painfully slow. Overall it was a good experience.
