Frequently asked questions about Agra

When is the best time to visit Agra?

The best time to visit Agra is from November through March, when days are mild and rain is scarce. February and March are particularly pleasant, with warm afternoons and low humidity. Skip the hottest stretch from April to June, and the monsoon months from July to September, which bring heavy rain. October offers comfortable weather after the rains ease. If you want a famous festival, Holi in March is widely celebrated.

Which area should I stay in in Agra?

For first-time visitors, Tajganj near the Taj Mahal is ideal, with many hotels and easy access to the monument. The area around Fatehabad Road also offers a range of hotels and is well-connected. For a quieter stay, consider the Cantonment area, which is more spread out. Choose Tajganj or Fatehabad Road for convenience, and Cantonment if you prefer less traffic.

What are the must-see attractions in Agra?

The Taj Mahal is the marble mausoleum that defines Agra and is best seen at sunrise or sunset. Agra Fort offers massive red sandstone ramparts and palaces of the Mughal emperors. Itmad-ud-Daula, known as the Baby Taj, is a delicate riverside tomb with intricate inlay work. Mehtab Bagh is a garden across the river with classic views of the Taj. Akbar's tomb at Sikandra is the grand red and white sandstone resting place of the emperor himself.

What day trips can I take from Agra?

You can take a full-day trip to Jaipur, with stops at Fatehpur Sikri and a step well along the way, or visit Mathura and Vrindavan, known for their temples and Krishna heritage. These are the main day trips offered from Agra.

How many days do I need in Agra?

Plan 2 days in Agra. Day one: Taj Mahal at sunrise, then Agra Fort. Afternoon for Itmad-ud-Daula and Mehtab Bagh across the river. Day two: Akbar's tomb and Sikandra Fort, plus any sights you missed. If you want a side trip to Fatehpur Sikri, the old Mughal capital, add a third day.

Pathetic experience. Even staff is behavior is not good. Dirty bathroom. AC was not working. Refrigerator was dirty. Water was not draining in bathroom after bath. The food was very oily, even after inform then about this before cooking. I do not recommend anyone this. Even they are not able to accept payment using card. Only cash and upi payment was available.

The fuse in the bathroom went out, only one single charger worked, and that was with a very loose connection. The beds weren't how we'd asked (there was one big bed instead of two small ones, and when the staff came to fix the beds, we saw how stained the mattresses was underneath. Most things in the hotel were very dusty. The food tasted good, but both the person I was with had a very upset stomach afterwards

Good place to stay. Decent one. Taj Mahal is not very far from here. Room service is good. Rooms are excellent with soothing decor. Best thing was they gave us taj mahal batches as sovueniers. We stayed there as country club members and got 10% off on food bill.

This is a very good boutique hotel. Its serves a best quality of rooms and staff is very co-operative to the visitors and travellers and good room service. This hotel provides a rooftop dining service and here is a bar also. This hotel serves a good facility of massage and spa services. Family and couples both can travel here. You will surely enjoy your holidays at this hotel. Here are some photos with my experience hope you will surely like this.

The food and service was very well. Roomservice was fast. Sadly the beds were really hard and people were talking loud on the floors / slaming doors. Didn't get much sleep. Water was hot and had good pressure. Room had no hairdryer. AC worked fine.

Hotel is really nice. Staff behaved nicely. Rooms were very big and done beautifully. We stayed in room no 302 and 306. Both rooms were really nice. 302 was even bigger. These rooms are best part of the hotel. Hotel doesn't look that good from outside but it is really nice from inside. Online price was showing very high but when I talked with hotel management they gave me decent price deal for those days. Breakfast spread was fine. not too good but ok type.
