Stayed in this hotel on two separate occasions. The reseption was always helpful and welcoming. The rooms are clean and functional. However housekeeping seems to work only on random or request basis. The restaurant was ok for dinner and breakfast which is a positive thing as there is a limited choice of places around the town in general. All in all this in my choice for a hotel whenever in Ulsteinvik.

I had a great but extremely short stay here. I had to leave after a few hours, but my two bags had the pleasure of being in the baggage storage for a few days. They had zero complaints as far as I am aware. Thanks for helping out with storing them when I had to join the newbuild abruptly for trials.

For a local event, my company organized a dinner at the hotel and also booked the overnight stays there. Everything happened at short notice without much advance planning. All the more impressive was the flexibility, commitment and enthusiasm of the hotel team right through to the end. The event could be realized down to the last detail. And even the last wishes that came up were made possible. A big compliment to the team, who really live and breathe SERVICE. Our staff and guests were very satisfied and have wonderful memories of the event.

I stayed at Quality Hotel Ulstein for one night when visiting Ulsteinvik for business. The hotel is relatively new, appears modern, and has a beautiful location at the ocean front. At the same time, the hotel is in the center of town so you have walking distance to everything. We had breakfast, dinner and two lunches there, and all the meals were very good. The room I got was small, but it was big enough for one person, had everything I needed, and had a average size bathroom. However, the room was facing the lobby, so there was no option to open the windows to let in fresh air, and the curtains had to be closed all the time, giving me the feeling of being locked in a box, and I had problems sleeping. So, although the hotel as such was OK, I was not at all happy with the room and the sleep quality.

We dined here last 17.mai 2025 with my family and it was awesome. I love the food and the service. You can book seats online and it is easy. There is a wide selection of traditional Norwegian food for the 17th of May. There is a section for the kids and for those with allergies (like me who cannot tolerate milk). Refill is fast and you don’t have to stress about it. Wine is also available upon request. I haven’t tried their rooms but hopefully soon.

Nice and only Hotel in ulsteinvik. Clean and spacious rooms, some with balconies. Restaurant is good but don’t expect big portions meat except the hamburgers. Overall nice and clean hotel.

I stayed here for a night while driving the rough the region. The hotel was undergoing renovation with gut renovation of rooms going on. That created some noise, but I was impressed at the lengths they were going and I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. It was well laid out with a view away from the street. The breakfast buffet was one of the better ones I encountered on a long trip with a wide selection and well made items. Ulsteinvik is a small town and there are two small shopping malls nearby. I was able to self-cater from one of the local supermarkets and didn’t eat dinner in the restaurant. There were only a couple small restaurants in the town. The hotel was hosting a conference of some sort and that kind of trade is probably how a relatively large hotel like this manages in such a small place.

We checked in for a long weekend trip to see relatives. We found the rooms to be adequate in size - the bonus was getting a room with a balcony to enjoy the views of the Sunnmøre Alps. More importantly, the bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean. The staff in reception were very helpful too. On that basis alone, I would give the hotel four stars. However, the restaurant was a bit of a let down - mainly caused by the serving staff that I would say would need better training. When requesting the pan fried cod that was on the limited a la carte menu (not necessarily a bad thing to allow the kitchen to do a limited menu very well), we were told that it was not available. So that left three dishes - on of which was fillet of venison. Perfectly cooked, and very nice. Three times we requested the pan fried cod, and every single time we were told it was not available. The hotel has the seafront as it's nearest neighbour, and a handful of fishing boats were moored less than 100 meters away - can it really be that difficult to get fresh cod in that place? The serving staff could do with trying to remember who wanted what dish even in a group of 8 - and learning to not just leaving the bottle of wine on the table for example. Overall, we will be happy to stay there again, but looking to dine elsewhere - for example at the Snorrebuda a few hundred meters further down Sjøgata.
