This trip was a birthday gift to myself with family (3 adults). We started off in Arusha and the African Tulip was the perfect place to stay. The entire staff is super nice, helpful, professional, and caring. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. I wasn't thrilled with the food. It was good but not delicious. The set menu for breakfast when they didn't have enough guests for a buffet was not great (it was low season), but the buffet was delicious. The pool is a great place to take a dip or just relax sitting by it with a nice drink. I would definitely stay there again.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at The African Tulip Hotel in Arusha. The hotel’s interior is stunning — warm, elegant, and full of authentic African charm. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and beautifully designed, making it one of the most comfortable stays I’ve ever had in Tanzania. The food was delicious, the garden was serene and lush, and above all, the staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and attentive. Their hospitality made the experience feel truly special. If you’re visiting Arusha and want a luxury hotel that blends comfort, culture, and class — The African Tulip is the perfect choice!

Very sweet staff. Beautiful environment and decor, pool well maintained. Quiet location. Just be aware that booking.com is very ambiguous about whether the $9US city tax is included or not if you prepay.

Lila Kitu Kipo Sawa! All very good! This is an extraordinarily wonderful place. The people who serve you are friendly and gracious — especially Vicky and Said in the lovely restaurant. My husband and I have traveled from USA to Tanzania twice and both times thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The African Tulip! Enthusiastically looking forward to the third time! Asante sana!

The three of us had an absolutely wonderful stay at The African Tulip! The lodge has an amazing, authentic African vibe throughout the property that we completely fell in love with. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was top-notch; we were greeted with a welcome drink that was so delicious I was almost tempted to ask for a second glass hahahaha 😀 . The highlight of our experience, however, was the incredible kindness of the staff. Even though breakfast officially closes at 10:00 AM and we arrived late, they didn't hesitate to provide a full, complete breakfast just for us. It was such a touching gesture that truly showed how much they care about their guests. We can’t recommend this place enough for its beautiful atmosphere and exceptional service!

This hotel is a hidden gem. A boutique hotel centrally located in Arusha that we were able to walk to the main town. The staff are really friendly and professional and took such good care of us. The restaurant servers were particularly great, and would remember you and offer you personalized service to what you like. The rooms are great too, and spacious as well.

I was really excited to stay at this hotel for an overnight stay, but we had a change of plans that required us to change dates. I’ve had to contact them multiple times a day just for me to get no response or help. I wouldn’t recommend
