Our stay at Benben was a bit of a mixed one. If you are someone who has a lot of time on your hands and you want to take photos for instagram and do not care about water supply/shower issue, this may be the right place for you. On the other hand, if you have travel schedule planned and not too flexible with time (e.g., Abu Simbel day trip) and care about sleep quality, this is not the place for you. We stayed here for 2 nights, on our first day, we arrived around 3pm with sweats and heat exhaustion from our Philae temple visit. After being sent to our room, we realised the water wasn’t working. Hotel told us to wait as they had some water supply issue, after waiting for 5 hours, we called again and were told they are still fixing it and could not tell us an ETA on the fix. With frustration and massive migraine from heat exhaustion and no clear ETA, I figured I had to sleep with sweats and anger. The 2nd issue we encountered was the ferry to the dock. The hotel is on and island which means every time we want to go in and out, we would need to contact the hotel to arrange for the boat for transfer). On the day we need to leave, we were waiting on the boat with a Danish couple but we could not depart after waiting for 20 mins (post the initial agreed departure time). Even though the other couple made a complaint to the hotel staff, they did not care or give a clear answer on when we can leave. Another 20 mins later, we we realised we were waiting for another couple to come onboard (and confirmed with them that they were 20 mins late to their original appointment). At this point, we were already very late to meet our own driver and start our 8 hours trip to Luxor. Most hotel staff could not speak English, the only ones we can communicate to was Nirvana (from front counter) and the restaurant manager. The rest of the staff were not well trained to do basic communication. So… If you have time, ok to deal with the above potential issues (oh…and lots of stairs!), go ahead and you will enjoy the amazing views from the hotel.

My stay at Benben Hotel was nothing short of incredible. From the moment I arrived, every member of the staff made me feel welcome. The lobby team was always warm and helpful, the kitchen staff prepared delicious meals every day, and the boats were available whenever we asked, making it so easy to explore and enjoy the area. The hotel is spotless, beautifully maintained, and the kindness of everyone working there truly sets it apart. The food was amazing, the service was exceptional, and the views are simply breathtaking—without a doubt some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. Benben Hotel is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at, and it has become my favorite place in Egypt. Every single time I visit Egypt, Benben Hotel will be my first choice. Thank you for making this an unforgettable experience!

My recent stay at Benben by Dhara Hotels was truly exceptional—one of those rare experiences that stays with you long after you leave.|I visited with my mom, and from the very first moment, everything felt special. The atmosphere of the hotel is incredibly calm, peaceful, and beautifully designed—it’s honestly one of the most serene places I’ve ever stayed in. As someone who travels often and experiences many hotels, I can confidently say this one stands out as something truly unique.|What made the stay even more memorable was that it happened during my birthday. Without me mentioning anything beforehand, the team surprised me with a beautiful cake delivered to my room. It was such a thoughtful and genuine gesture that meant so much to me—it really reflects the level of care and attention they give to their guests.|The breakfast experience was beyond amazing. Every morning felt special thanks to Mohammed, who went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. He even remembered our drinks and preferences throughout our four-day stay, which made everything feel so personal and warm. The entire restaurant team created such a welcoming atmosphere—we genuinely looked forward to starting our days there.|In the evenings, we would often go for drinks and refreshments, and Mohamed Shoura made those moments just as enjoyable. He brought such a positive energy and made sure we felt comfortable, relaxed, and taken care of every time.|The reception team—including Adham, Nirvana, and Heba, along with everyone else whose names I may have missed—were all incredibly professional, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. Their attitude and hospitality truly made a difference in our stay.|I also have to highlight the housekeeping team—the level of cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail in the room was outstanding. Everything was spotless and maintained to perfection throughout our stay.|Overall, the vibe of the hotel is simply unmatched—peaceful, elegant, and incredibly welcoming. This is easily one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had, and I will be recommending it to anyone planning a trip to Aswan.|A truly unforgettable stay.

Incredible property tucked away on a small island. The design and architecture is simple yet breathtaking - clean white with hints of beautiful bright colors and pockets of beautifully flowered trees. The pool has a very cool layout however, I will say there were only 2 pool chairs - keep in mind we’re here in July, the low season so this isn’t surprising. Be advised there is no alcohol served here but I believe it is BYOB, if of interest maybe confirm with the concierge before you arrive. It was a nice break away for us to focus on each other and connect together while sitting on the patio, taking it all in. I have to make special note to a server, Abdelnasser who works in the poolside restaurant. I worked in the industry for almost a decade and have been to thousands of restaurants including multi-Michelin stars…. And I have never been so well taken care of and delighted to see him at each meal. (Thank you!!!) By the way, there’s a cute little dog who I believe lives at the hotel - his name is Hummus!!! So cute. All in all, Ben Ben opens your heart to gratitude and we cannot wait to return.

A true sanctuary on the Nile! I had an incredible stay at BenBen by Dhara Hotels. The authentic architecture is stunning and fits perfectly into the Aswan landscape. If you are looking for a calm and quiet escape, this is it. The views are unmatched—having a direct view of the Nile and the Philae Temple right from the hotel room is a dream come true. The scenery and amazing landscape surrounding the property make every moment feel special. Incredible hospitality! A huge shout-out to the manager, Mr. Ashraf, for ensuring a perfect stay, and to Ms. Heba and Mr. Joseph at reception for being so welcoming and professional. The whole team is friendly, attentive, and truly goes above and beyond Highly recommend for anyone visiting Aswan!

I stayed here for two nights a weekend in March really just to visit the Abu Simbel temple. I had no idea how much else there was to do in Aswan. This hotel is a magical place, which begins when you arrive by boat and catch a first glimpse of the hotel perched upon rocks in the middle of a lake formed by the damming of the Nile. However, the view you will see in the daytime doesn’t come close to how the hotel looks at night from the water. It is a short ride from here to the Philae temple where you can catch the sound and light show at night. The entire staff of the hotel is incredibly friendly and welcoming and will accommodate pretty much anything that you request many of the rooms come with the Jacuzzi on the terrace and you can spend all day lounging by the pool. I was welcomed by Sara and Nardeen who are very ably assisted by Ashraf, who is the manager. The menu is diverse and you won’t get bored. I tried several dishes and was not disappointed. Make sure to ask how long it takes to prepare each dish so you can plan accordingly. If you are hungry and want something in a hurry, make sure to let Mr Ahmed the restaurant manager know.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed my stay here. The staff are genuinely warm and welcoming—you really feel their hospitality. The property is beautiful and full of character. I stayed in the Prestige Suite, which was spacious and thoughtfully designed. The jacuzzi was larger than expected, the view was stunning, and the Nubian/Egyptian aesthetic made the whole place feel special. The food was a highlight. I’ve stayed at the top hotels in Aswan, and this was easily my favorite food experience. Their food is delicious and the mango juice is so good! It’s peaceful and quiet, and while it requires a short boat ride, and it is a little far, it’s absolutely worth it—especially passing by Philae Temple. I truly enjoyed my stay and would love to return! Probably one of my favorite stays so far.
