Rare stay in hostel. Rooms are clean and basic. Check out delayed due to insistence they actually return deposit (cash). Fantastic location.

Such a beautiful and quaint hostel right in the town of Banff! The rooms are nice and well equipped, but more importantly the service is excellent. I want to say a specific thank you to AJ for being absolutely incredible - he helped me figure out my booking and after a long day of flying and running around, I really needed that help!

Excellent place and the staff very helpful! We had some problems with my reservation at the check in and the lady (we asked for her name but forgot it, Kalista maybe) was very helpful and made a new reservation right there for us, respecting the prices and the room. She was def the best! The location is perfect, on the Banff avenue and the room was decent, it was clean and well cleaned. Thank you guys!

This was my first time staying in a hostel. I stayed in the 6 bed female dorm. Front desk staff was very accommodating when I asked for a lower bunk. Room was cleaned daily. Fairly quiet hostel. No air conditioning but thankfully there were two windows that opened and the evenings were cool. I would suggest they replace pillows as mine was about as flat as it gets. They also had bear spray which they loaned me for the week.

The hostel is very well located, within easy walking distance of everything you need in Banff, including the bus hub, visitor center, and IGA supermarket — all within about 7 minutes. There is a large shared kitchen with enough cooking space and a professional-grade refrigerator. Unfortunately, breakfast or free coffee is not provided, only complimentary tea. The Wi-Fi was very strong throughout the hostel, and free parking is available. The beds were a bit too soft, but they were equipped with power sockets, a small fan, and a curtain for privacy. The hostel was clean overall. But cleaning lady cleaned room very late in the afternoon when already returning from treking which I found disturbing, also thez do not knock before entering the room.|The staff was friendly, though they could offer more detailed information about tours and trekking, rather than just general advice. However, additional information can easily be obtained at the visitor center.

I visited this hostel last year in September, I thought it was an alright hostel, nothing amazing, but nothing awful, as I was happy to come back this summer. However, this time round my experience at this hostel was awful. To start, I was checked into a room which was already full! I arrived late at night and everyone was sleeping. Not only was this frustrating for me as I was tired and now had to spend ages with the receptionist to sort out a new room, but it was extremely concerning to think anyone can just walk into my room. At this hostel they take a $50 deposit (I don’t think I had to pay this last year). The receptionist told me that I would receive this payment within 1 or 2 days of checking out. On the 3rd day of waiting I called them to ask about it. Listened for 5 minutes of typing, and then get a notification come through to say my $50 has been sent back. The receptionist then tells me, “yes we sent that back to you on Sunday so you’ll get that through in a few days.” I called him out for his lies over the phone but he kept playing it off. Why should I have to call to ask for my money back. Next summer I’ll go somewhere else I think.
