The food is great. The two things I did not enjoy were the Tofu for dinner, and that the table was set up with plastic tablecloth, which downgraded the overall atmosphere. I love the pumpkin mousse, which is really nice. WiFi is super fast, hot spring is good, every room can reserve one 40 minutes slot from three individual hot springs, and wine tasting is also nice. Not too far away from the train station, around 12 minutes walk. Supermarket and drugstores nearby, which is also very convenient.

Love the hotel vibe! You can reserve the private bath and there’s a recreation room! Room is small but worth the price

(Translated by Google) A long-established inn near Beppu Station. The facilities are old, but the rooms were spacious and clean. The private bath, which you can use once for free, is fantastic. There are two open-air baths and one family bath, available on a first-come, first-served basis. You write your name on a form for your desired time slot, and when your time comes, you take the key next to the form and unlock the entrance to the bath. I used the open-air bath, No. 1. You exit from the back of the hotel building, walk outside for a while, and you'll find No. 1 at the bottom and No. 2 at the top. I was able to relax in the hot spring for 40 minutes. The indoor bath also has seven washing areas and is a decent size. The best part is that it's a free-flowing hot spring. Also, there was a game event in the evening where you could get 10 pieces of candy if you got a high score in darts or pachinko. Furthermore, they had an all-you-can-drink shochu event in the lobby at night, making it the perfect hotel for drinkers. It seems you're allowed to bring the glass containing the shochu back to your room. Dinner was a set menu with many dishes, and I was completely full. The breakfast buffet also had a wide variety of dishes, making it one of the best hotels I've stayed at recently. Even just the rice selection was impressive, with three types: porridge, salmon rice, and white rice, as well as dango soup. There's a ping pong table and an air hockey table at the back of the first floor, both available for a time-based fee. Ping pong was 500 yen for 30 minutes. The staff were very welcoming and the inn had a wonderful atmosphere reminiscent of the good old Showa era. I hope this inn continues to thrive for many years to come.

(Translated by Google) It has a relaxing atmosphere, kind of like a public lodging. First, they offer a welcome service of a hearty soup and coffee. Plus, there's a game corner with a festival-style cart, and I got eight pieces of candy for getting a high score on darts. I drank every night, and they have Ohara's alcoholic drinks, which is great. However, the salmon rice for dinner was gone by 6:45 pm, so people who came later didn't get to enjoy it. It seems like they close a little too early. The baths are a bit disappointing, as the large public bath doesn't have an open-air bath, and the sauna temperature is low. Also, the person who comes in to clean the baths, who seems to be an external contractor, comes into the changing room with their shoes on and kicks the chair in front of the mirror with their foot, I wonder what that person is up to. About 90% of the breakfast is commercially packaged food, but because it's commercially packaged, the taste is consistent, and it's nice that there are many dishes. (Translated by Google) This is a ryokan (Japanese inn) in Beppu run by the Public School Mutual Aid Association. It's one of the facilities included in the Beppu 88 Hot Springs program, and I used it for a day trip to enjoy the baths. The bathing fee was 500 yen. I bathed in the large public bath; it wasn't particularly atmospheric, but the water from the spout was thick and the water quality was very pleasant. (Translated by Google) I used the day-use bathing facilities on the weekend. The parking lot is huge, accommodating about 100 cars. Parking can be a concern in Beppu city, but it's free here, which is reassuring. Upon entering, I found a foreigner at the reception desk who was very polite and helpful. The fee was 500 yen. The bathroom had eight washing areas, and the bathtub could fit about 10 people. The sign said the water was 48 degrees Celsius, but it felt more like 43 degrees. There was also a low-temperature sauna at 70 degrees Celsius; however, I felt I was sweating after about 5 minutes, making it less strenuous for those with heart conditions. On a weekend in August, only a few people were using the facilities, so I almost had it all to myself. While slightly more expensive than local public baths, 500 yen is good value for money. Guests staying overnight can also use the shampoo bar, and it seems that private open-air baths can be reserved.
