Very large room, basic fixtures and fittings but perfect for a beach stay at a reasonable price in Byron. Very comfy king size bed. Small kitchenette but with everything you need to eat in the room. Great communal pool area. Good location just away from the noisy high street in Byron making the stay quieter, but only a 5 minute walk to the restaurants and bars. Would highly recommend for a short stay. Easily walkable from the coach park too.

Really great location, just about 5 minutes walk from town and a couple of minutes to the beach via a trip over the train tracks (don't worry it's not dangerous). The staff/owner were friendly and helpful the only problem was the internet, the WiFi seemed to disappear during the evening and early morning which was a bit frustrating. We would stay here again if the WiFi was better.

Management were fantastic couldn’t be anymore helpful. motel is very close to the beach and the heart of Byron. But rooms are very run down and not very clean. Some doors inside the room didn’t fully close powerpoints broken and are coming away from the wall tiles missing from the bathroom floor some test and tags on the electrical devices are a few years out of date basically the whole motel needs a massive overhaul.

We have just spent 2 nights in The Wollongbar Motel. The staff were very friendly. The location was perfect! The bed was clean and comfortable. However the room fell far below our expectations for the money we paid for the accommodation. The room was VERY RUN DOWN and in serious need of cleaning and decorating. The dust and grime on skirtings and the inside of the wardrobe was disgusting. The toilet was the worst. The toilet looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a month and the general cleanliness of the toilet and the room was really poor. |The big screen locked but the inside door didn’t. We slept with a table up against the door. I went to reception to complain about the door and was told none of the doors locked and there have never been any issues. It didn’t reassure us very much. |In my opinion a good clean and a lick of paint would have made this a much better stay for us.

Great get away place. Private beach access. Pool. Close to town.

The location makes it a pretty pricey venue, but you knew that already! Anywhere in Byron will make your wallet flinch... The room was big, a bit run down, but clean. It's walking distance to the centre of town, and there's handy beach access out the back across the train tracks. Recommend shoes for that journey, especially in the dark! The pool is nice, the staff are friendly, just try not to hoot and holler on the balcony after 10, or you'll hear about it!

Nightmare Check-In: No Staff: There was absolutely no check-in staff available after 5:00 PM. Security Risk: The key was supposedly left "under the mat," but it had already been taken by someone else. This is a major safety concern. Zero Support: There is no phone or chat support available at night. I was left stranded. Suggestion for Management: Stop leaving keys under mats. At the very least, you should use a secure lockbox with a code.
