We spent a full month at Tambuli Seaside Resort in one of the residential towers and really enjoyed our stay. The resort itself is beautiful—pristinely landscaped, very clean, and honestly even nicer than we expected. The pools are lovely and well maintained, and the entire resort area feels peaceful and relaxing. Our condo was clean, comfortable and well equipped for a longer stay. Our particular unit faced more toward the neighboring barangay and construction than the sea, so it could sometimes be noisy, and there was an odd smell near the kitchen sink. Thankfully, once we were out in the main resort and pool areas, we really didn’t notice the outside noise at all. The beach is man-made, so don’t come expecting a natural Philippine beach, but it is clean and well maintained, with comfortable loungers and plenty of shade. We also really enjoyed the pizza at Hojas and Wednesday’s unlimited wine. 😊 The location is somewhat isolated, which was actually exactly what we wanted for this part of our trip. It’s a bit of a walk to get outside the resort complex if you want to catch a tricycle, but getting a Grab was easy. For a longer stay where the goal is to slow down, relax and enjoy the pools and resort, it worked very well for us. The staff throughout Tambuli were wonderful—always friendly, welcoming and helpful—but we especially want to recognize Marcel, one of the lifeguards. We met Marcel our very first day at the pool when he saw us trying to inflate our rafts. Before we knew it, he had come over with an air pump and insisted on taking care of it for us. From then on, he always greeted us with a smile, made sure we had fresh towels, and would offer to help us find or save a good spot in the shade. Over the course of a month, we also really enjoyed talking with him and asking his perspective about Filipino culture and places in the area. At one point we asked him a simple question about mailing something at the post office. Instead of just giving us directions, he went completely above and beyond and offered to take care of it for us. He returned with our official receipt and wouldn’t even let us give him anything for his time or transportation. This was absolutely not something we expected or would expect an employee to do—it was simply an extraordinarily kind gesture from a very kind person. There are employees who provide good service, and then there are people who genuinely make a place feel more like home. After a month at Tambuli, we honestly felt like we had a Filipino friend on staff. Marcel, thank you for taking such good care of us and for making our stay a little more special. We would happily stay at Tambuli again, especially for another longer stay when we’re looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing in Mactan.

I had a pleasant stay at Mactan Tambuli Seaside Hotel. I stayed in a room in the tower and did not use the spa facilities, so I can only comment on the accommodation and overall location.The hotel is conveniently located around 30 minutes from the airport, which was a big plus. The area feels safe, peaceful, and well-maintained, with a nice seaside atmosphere.The room was more like an apartment than a typical hotel room, which made the stay very comfortable. It had plenty of space and all the amenities needed for a longer stay, making it feel like a home away from home.Overall, I enjoyed the comfortable room, the location, and the relaxed environment. It’s a good choice for travelers looking for a quiet and convenient place to stay in Mactan.

We had a wonderful dining experience at Caverna! The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was lovely. Special thanks to our server, Jonel, for his exceptional service. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed. A big thank you as well to Chef Reneir and Chef John for preparing such amazing food! We truly enjoyed every dish. Highly recommended, and we will definitely be back! ❤

We stayed at Tambuli expecting a luxury beachfront resort experience and unfortunately, left fairly disappointed. The marketing and photos create the impression of a high-end resort hotel, but in reality, it feels much more like a collection of residential apartment towers with shared facilities rather than a purpose-built luxury resort. The first thing to understand is that this is not a traditional hotel. Accommodation is spread across large condo-style tower blocks, many of which include privately owned Airbnb units alongside hotel-managed rooms. This creates a mixed and inconsistent standard, and in several cases the Airbnb units within the same buildings appeared better furnished and better value than the official hotel rooms. Maintenance and general upkeep around the property were also inconsistent. Some areas appear unfinished or poorly maintained, and the “garden view” room category is particularly misleading. Rather than landscaped gardens, the view largely consisted of dirt areas, construction materials, and unfinished landscaping, which does not match the expectation created by the description. On arrival, we found the in-room safe to be non-functional. A team came to repair it after about an hour, but 30 minutes later they gave up and replaced it with one from another unit — only for that replacement to run out of battery power after a short period. Another major issue was the day pass system. The resort appears to sell a large number of day passes to non-residents, which makes the facilities unpredictably busy throughout the day. As a paying guest, there is no clear priority or separation between hotel guests and day visitors. This means pools, beachfront areas, and common spaces can become crowded at peak times without warning, undermining any sense of exclusivity or relaxation that a resort of this type is expected to provide. Breakfast included with the stay was also poor quality, lacking flavour, and if you arrive after 9:00 am there is very little left and it is not replenished. The overall environment feels more like a busy residential condominium complex than a resort. With multiple tower blocks, a high number of families, and constant external visitor traffic, it lacks the calm, curated atmosphere usually associated with a high-end beachfront stay. The beachfront during our stay was busy and unexpectedly rocky, with seaweed and some trash accumulation. We did not end up using the facilities we had paid a premium for, as they fell short of expectation, were crowded, and not particularly well maintained. To be fair, some staff were polite and doing their best. However, the property feels caught between residential development and resort branding, without fully succeeding as either. We are sharing this feedback as we were not aware of most of these issues despite extensive research and reading prior reviews of Tambuli. At its current pricing, Tambuli does not offer good value compared with other beachfront stays in Cebu and falls short of expectations set by its marketing.

We had such a lovely dinner at the Italian restaurant at Tambuli during our stay. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious — the pizza was perfectly cooked, the chicken parmigiana was rich and comforting, and the Caesar salad was fresh and well-balanced. The aubergine (eggplant) parmigiana was also really enjoyable, though we would have loved just a little more tomato sauce to take it to the next level. Overall, the food was immaculate and the experience was fantastic. We’d happily recommend dining here and would definitely return!

The place is clean peaceful and relaxing. My husband and I both like their idea of farm to the plate/glass concept from their organic farm. The place is safe staff are friendly and accommodating, the food and drinks were excellent, had the best wood oven pizza in Cebu at their Caverna restaurant. Tipsy Dog, Bar Montan and Cafe Hojas also offer excellent food and drinks options.|Shot out to Jovan who made the best Gin and Tonic and those Signature drinks at Bar Montan were delish. And to all the trainees from all of the areas who also worked just as hard as the regular, you guys are AWESOME.

I really like the place—it’s very clean and beautiful, especially the entrance, which is green and well-maintained. The beach and pools are also very nice, and the service is great. What makes it even better is that there are restaurants inside the resort. You can simply call the reception to connect you to a restaurant, place your order, and they will deliver the food directly to your room. Overall, everything about the place is very positive. I will definitely come back and check in here again.
