Where can I eat near Villa Malisko?

You are a short walk from several well-regarded spots. Try DiVino for seafood, or Mediterraneo Restaurant for a solid meal. Closer to the villa, Dva Ribara, Kod Kapetana, and Jerolim Restaurant are all within a few minutes' walk, as are The Top bar and Splash Beach Bar & Restaurant. For a sweet treat, Slasticarna Hvar is about a 10-minute stroll away. The main square, with more dining options, is also within easy walking distance.

Hvar's old town, with St. Stephen's Square and the cathedral, is roughly a 10-minute walk, and the harbor is under a kilometer. You are close to the water and the town's historic core, while the farther beaches like Plaža Malo Zaraće and Plaža Dubovica are several kilometers out, so those need a boat or car trip. It is a peaceful, scenic spot that feels removed from the busiest part of town yet is still within easy walking distance of the main sights.

Fly into Split Airport, then take a bus or taxi to the ferry port in Split. From there, catch the catamaran to Hvar town. The owner can meet you at the ferry terminal and bring you to the villa, which is a short ride away. If you arrive by car, follow signs to Hotel Pharos, then continue downhill to the end of the road and park in front of the house. The nearest bus stop, boarding pier, is about 150 meters from the villa.

The Španjola Fortress, a 7-minute walk, offers a scenic evening viewpoint. You can also join a sunset boat tour, such as the Half Day Sailing around Hvar and Pakleni islands, to enjoy the coast after dark.

Is Villa Malisko a good base for exploring Hvar?

For farther sights like Plaža Malo Zaraće (6.3 km) and Plaža Dubovica (8.5 km), you will want a car or a taxi, but the nearby bus stop makes getting around simple. I cannot possibly express how much we adored staying at Villa Gariful. It exceeded our expectations in every possible way. The location cannot be beat (close to the ferry, in the heart of everything, but removed enough to provide privacy and a bit of tranquility), the staff is truly world class (more on that later), and the Villa is decorated beautifully with modern / clean lines so as not to detract from the beauty of the surroundings of Hvar Town. The Villa is divided into four separate apartments that can be rented separately (each with their own pluses and minuses) or all together for a group. We stayed in the first floor apartment and would choose it again when we return. Despite being on the first floor we had a beautiful view overlooking Gariful restaurant. The apartment has two small balconies (only thing missing were chairs to be able to sit out and enjoy the view). But the thing that I cannot stress enough is how incredible the staff is. Carlos was our guide / concierge and you will be hard pressed to find such an incredible host in any luxury accommodation around the world. He messaged us via WhatsApp before our arrival and asked for our arrival time and if there were any activities / reservations he could assist us with before we came. He helped us with booking chairs at Hula Hula, renting ATVs, and chartering a yacht but also provided guidance on where to get the best cup of coffee, and gave us the back story of a few of the local restaurants. Carlos alone elevated our trip from good to great. There is a prestige associated with being a guest of Gariful on the island is worth its weight in gold when out and about on the island and it made our trip one of (if not the best) we have ever taken. If you are looking for a place to stay on Hvar look no further.

We had dinner at the restaurant previously and discovered new newly launched villas! Besides the newly appointed interior, we much enjoyed the excellent service and the incomparable location! I would definitely recommend booking early ;)

Response from the property

Thanks Vincent for the nice recommendation.

When we arrived at Villa Gariful, our disappointment was great. We immediately realized that the photos, video and description on their website did not correspond at all to reality. Instead of a panoramic view of the sea, we had a view of the staircase and the Gariful restaurant. We weren't in a private, quiet space for the patio as guests and restaurant staff surrounded us. The restaurant kept us awake throughout our stay by playing music from 8am until 2am every day. When we pleased their concierge "Carlos" he couldn't solve the problem. So much so that we found ourselves chatting on whatsApp with an employee of IVAN GOSPODNETIC. Their employee Dominika promised us over several days a possible recall of the owner Ivan Gospodnetic. This one never reminded us. When you have already paid before your arrival, the customer can only have their eyes to cry. You can find the details of the whatsapp discussion attached!
