Google· 7 years agoThis is a very well designed small (8-room) motel. Each cottage is separate from the others with a parking space right outside. The owners could have crammed a lot more rooms onto the plot, but they did it with great style and surrounded the cottages with very pleasant gardens. We had cottage number 7 and loved it -- particularly the rural view from our patio with the hills in the background (with a powder-coating of fresh late-February snow). The room was simple but very comfortable with heaters everywhere, and a well-equipped kitchen area. The smallish bathroom worked well. The owners were welcoming and helpful. It's a short (3km) drive up the seashore from the town centre, so easily accessible and very quiet. When back in Kaikoura we would happily stay here again.

Google· 8 years agoNewly built cottages with good standard and perfectly clean. Good beds (one double and two singles in a separate room). Small kitchen and a living room area with sofa, small dinner table and a large TV (for rainy days). Perfect for a family of four. Close to the road, but still quiet. A bit outside the town centre, and perfect for exploring the Kaikoura area. Parking right outside the cottages. Very nice and friendly staff/owners. We had booked a year ahead by mistake, but they managed to find a room for us and settled everything with the booking agency.

Google· 6 years agoWOW!! What a stunning view of the snow capped mountain ranges. The cozy cabins are 5 STAR, Clean, Warm, Modern and our own car park beside the cabin. Raewyn and Darrell are fantastic host, They made sure we had everything and were comfortable. Will stay long next time

Google· 5 years agoPerfect stay for a family of 4. They have a flying fox, a slide and a trampoline to keep kid busy and use up all energy. The owners are very friendly. The cottage is well positioned and you can park beside it. One room with lounge next to it and another room with two single beds. We always stay there when traveling to Kaikourai and always feel so welcome like home. The cottage is very quiet so we can all rest well and keep on our journey.

Google· 6 years agoPerfect stay in a cottage motel for a family of 4. The playground with flying fox and trampoline was a huge hit with the kids. Lovely warm room with everything we needed. Short walk across the dunes to a huge wide deserted beach. Sun rising onto the mountains... just stunning. Thank you for taking care of us!

Google· 5 years agoStayed here for a couple of nights in early November. 5 stars isn’t enough to rate this little gem of an accommodation tucked away on the fringe of town. Our cottage was private, spacious and spotless. The missus especially loved the sheets, which smelled freshly laundered and heavenly. The weather wasn’t all that flash during our stay but we had no issue staying in as we had Netflix to binge on! Last but not least, Darrell was most welcoming and friendly, and so helpful with local recommendations (here’s looking at you, Chiwis!). It’s evident he and his wife takes a lot of pride in their offerings. All in all, superb value for money. Look forward to going back!

Google· 8 years agoHad such a fantastic time spent here - would rate more than 5 stars if I could!! We booked last minute and expected something quite poor quality for the cheap price, but what we got was lovely + completely spotless. The site itself is rather small but they do have a play area with a brand new trampoline/small zipline/swings/slide for kids. The cottages had everything we needed and we were very impressed with how kind and helpful Darryl and the other owners were. They even offer you some options of DVDs to borrow for free should you wish. Very nice, would stay here again :)

Google· 7 years agoOur host Rae was very welcoming. Number 7 our cottage was immaculate with everything that you needed and more. Beautiful view of the mountains with a 5 minute walk to the beach. We would definitely return on a trip back to Kaikorua.
